Best '50s TV Shows (10-1) {Inside TV Blog}
Nov 1st 2009 7:33AM Yup, I remember all of these programs (but Walter Cronkite's program) and watched most of them (especially the family-genre sitcoms) with regularity. My mother was a great fan of the Westerns. I'm not sure who rated these programs, and I have no problem with the ranking, it's just that "I Love Lucy," is probably the number one comedy sticom of all time. I still watch the reruns when I find them. Thanks for the review ... it brought back some nice memories. There's just TOO MUCH violence on television today ~ especially against women. I don't watch most network programing much ... mostly PBS and the Hallmark Channel (when I have the time to watch TV at all).
Tom Cruise Has Worst Week Ever {Popeater}
Oct 25th 2009 7:15AM I thought it was kinda cute that Tom was 'over-the-top-In-Love' with Katie and expressed it on Oprah! I think most women wouldn't mind that their boy-friends ~ husbands ~ were more demonstative about their affections (well, and few of our spouses are invited to appear on Oprah!) As to the faux pax in the Today Show, I can't stand Matt Lauer ... he's SUCH an arrogant bastard ... I would argue with him over just about anything! And, besides, since all that Brooke and Tom dealt with the matter, personally, and remain good friends, so, why does the press insist on attempting to make all that HISTORY such a 'big deal' even yet? As to Bronson Pinchot 'reporting' on Tom twenty years ago? Who gives a damn what this 'has-been' says, does or thinks? He's made a cheap shot at Tom (a huge target) to get HIS OWN name in the paper, on the Internet and on every celebrity talk show possible! People like him will say anything for the attention! He's a 'user!' As to Alec Baldwin? Well ... er ... uh ... while I like this man as an actor, he is NO EXAMPLE of how to behave pertinent to 'former wives' and the use of the telephone ... and, besides, whatever was said and how it was said made Katie laugh, so I wouldn't think Alec's comments were much of a 'big deal.' And as to those (here, commenting!) and those elsewhere who like to comment on Tom's beliefs, what in the hell do any of you REALLY know? Nothing! And even if you THINK you do, it's just none of your damned business what Tom or anyone else believes! It's a free country (although there are some who would like it otherwise!) and we are allowed here ~ at least at present ~ to believe what and how we wish! Obviously, some people ~ like Sadgalinsd ~ don't have enough to do! I wish Tom and his family the best!
He Works So Others Have Homes {Rented Spaces}
Oct 24th 2009 3:18PM Ed is a great guy! Wish there were more like him! I've met a few and have been helped by several myself, passing on the deed to others when I can. Ed, you are an inspiration!
On the other hand, lilaoshi27, is an idiot ... but then she knows that already! Gosh, but it takes all kinds to make a world!
Abercrombie & Fitch Must Pay for Harassing Former Employee {Stylelist}
Sep 17th 2009 9:59AM cledis03, your 'this girl was probably hired as a stocker and wanted to be on the floor,' comment is absurd! Of course your words are indicitive of YOUR stupidity and obliviousness to the issue that the British 'court' DID get! (How this world will survive with multitudes of 'clueless' like you, I'm not sure!!!!!) This 'girl' was OBVIOUSLY sent to the 'back-room' because she didn't represent the shallow, vulgar, insensitive, despicable values this store promotes at every level! In reality, this girl won on TWO counts: first of all she is TOO GOOD to be an Abercrombie&Fitch employee ... and secondly, she took them to court and WON! Good for her! I hope others in similar situations as this ~ or any other store who seems to feel 'REAL PEOPLE' won't 'DO' in the work place ~ do the same and that this worthless retailer is forced into bankruptcy in due course! Frankly, I'd rather shop Wal-Mart (and I can't stand them either!)!
Abercrombie & Fitch Must Pay for Harassing Former Employee {Stylelist}
Sep 17th 2009 9:46AM Why would ANYONE shop at this far overrated, overpriced, sexist, vulgar, 'has-been' retailer? They need to be put out of business!!!!
Phil Spector Terrified of His Fellow Inmates {Spinner}
Aug 22nd 2009 7:35PM Well, when one KILLS another human being prison is the price they pay. Maybe he should have ... er ... not killed that young woman. Interesting how he sees himself as so different from his fellow inmates. Frankly, given his crime, I see him NO differently than those he will be living with for the next 19 years.
Customers boycott Whole Foods. Time to buy the stock? {Daily Finance}
Aug 20th 2009 12:10AM Anyone who says that 'healthcare ought not be an intrinsic right of every American' (or human being) is an ignorant fool ... or just plain stupid! Any country that does not value the health and the productivity that GOOD HEALTH promotes ~ as well as a good and fair educational system ~ needs a brain transplant! Even Thomas More, as early as the late 1400's and early 1500's, was more 'modern' in his thinking than CEO Jeff Mackey and his ilk are in 2009! A nation to compete and succeed, particularly in THIS DAY AND AGE, needs to be healthy of mind and body and well educated ... to be otherwise leaves a nation vulnerable to all manner ills. I don't understand why ANYONE ~ great or small (obviously, Mr. Mackey is among the SMALL) doesn't understand that! But, then, many lawmakers don't understand it either. Unforetunately I don't have Whole Foods to boycot, but if I did, they could add my name to the list! How sad that SO MANY in positions of leadership are SO ill informed and educated in the ways of logic and common sense. And where is their compassion and concern and care for others? It's frightening.
Designer Defends Nipple Tassels on Tot T-Shirt {ParentDish}
Aug 18th 2009 4:02PM With all due respect, Suzi Warren is a fool if not just plain STUPID! There is NO WAY IN HELL that I would purchase such a T-shirt for my grand daughters ~ ages eight and one & a half! I swear, it's no wonder the world is in SUCH a mess ... people violating if not killing one another right and left ~ ESPECIALLY violence against women and children to the extreme!! And to all of this, this hairbrain fool wants to add tassles to infant and children's clothing ... further making them suggestable sex objects of perverted individuals. Has this woman never heard of child pornography? Her thinking is upside-down and backwards if you ask me. I hope the buying public doesn't support her wild schemes. My God, where do people who wind up thinking like this come from? Aaaaauuuuuggggghhhhgh!!!!!!!!
Abbie Cornish: Early Days of Phillippe Romance Were 'Difficult' {Popeater}
Aug 17th 2009 2:58AM So we're supposed to feel sorry for this little harlet? I haven't ONE OUNCE of sympathy for her or that piece of garbage she felt was SO important to screw around with! Neither are worthy of the press they receive ... they DEFINITELY deserve one another!
John Edwards Expected to Admit He Fathered Rielle Hunter's Baby, TV Station Reports {Politics Daily}
Aug 15th 2009 12:16AM I'm so utterly disgusted with this 'man!' He has just plain lied through his teeth ... to everyone ... and repeatedly ... about every single aspect of this affair and it's aftermath!!!! And this man wanted to be our president! I can understand why Elizabeth feels as she does ~ why she wrote her book ~ why she has thus far remained with him (a similar situation occurred in my extended family many years ago) ... but I would understand if she finally gives up and shows this foolish, arrogant, self-righteous, philandering hypocrit the DOOR! God, what a disappointment John Edwards has turned out to be ... and he has SO MUCH going for him before all this! One more PERFECT example of the MANY reasons why I'll NEVER remarry! I have to wonder if there is an honest man on the face of this earth! I feel sorry for the baby at the center of all this. She has a selfish foolish idiot for a mother and a liar and cheating idot bastard for a father. Let's hope this little one can overcome ~ by the Grace of God ~ the liabilities she has been saddled with in the way of 'parents!'
