Dec 21st 2010 6:38PM I'm a heavy Mailplane user and so far I have mixed reactions, but I'm optimistic. I think with a few additional updates this could be a worthy competitor. My biggest issues are no undo (they're adding this), some unusual shortcut mappings, and some small settings like default open links in background.

Microsoft quietly launches desktop RSS feed reader {BloggingStocks}

Sep 12th 2006 3:54PM I tried Microsoft Max and it was quite visually pleasing. Two big problems with using it as a feed reader - zero options to configure and no way of reading the feed content within the app. If you're looking at a feed with full content in the RSS, it still only shows up as summaries in Max. When you click on the article content in the newspaper like view, it opens a new browser window. Not the result I was expecting. It's very pretty though...

Jan 11th 2006 5:59PM Great points on the SideKick, Mark. I just switched from the BlackBerry to a SideKick and I couldn't be happier. I'm surprised they keep avoiding marketing this to business users like myself. It could be a whole market they're missing.
