'Cloud' Twin Towers: Design Insults 9/11 Victims, Critics Say {AOL Real Estate}
Dec 12th 2011 9:56PM I think it's an interesting design, and certainly thinking outside the box (which a whole lot of american cities could sure use a bit of), but yes, there is certainly a resemblance to the world trade center exploding. this is in another country, and it's not like americans will be forced to look at it.
Top 20 countries for life expectancy {Gadling}
Mar 21st 2011 10:54PM There's nothing amazing about the fees doctors charge. Most doctors are being charged upwards of $200K per year in malpractice insurance. They're not getting the money, the insurance industry is. The same people who continue to raise your premiums as well.
is it any wonder that the countries with better healthcare, longer life, and lower infant mortality rates are the countries who have a govt healthcare system?
we don't have free market healthcare in the US, we have Corporate Socialist Healthcare.
Wal-Mart to pay $40 million to settle labor lawsuit in Massachusetts {Daily Finance}

"All of this is part of the re-distribution process practiced by most juries nowadays. "
Hold on a minute, there was NO jury, it was a settlement.
"I think it's disgusting that people go after a job, knowing full well what the pay agreements are, and then turn around and bite the hand that feeds them."
Wrong again, RN. What the people sued for was for the pay Walmart CONTRACTED for. Not an entitlement, but simply the pay they were owed BY LAW.
"Most of these people couldn't get a job anywhere else. Shame on them "
...shame on THEM???? In Atlanta, there USED to be two auto manufacturing facilities, employing (at a decent living wage, mind you) as many as 4000 employees. The plants are closed, and those employees (who used to make average $30/hour) are now working at Home Depot and Walmart, where they'll NEVER get that kind of pay. yet you expect them to pay more each year for insurance, and continue to pay thier mortgage, and higher food costs, etc.
how long do you really think this can go on?
RN, I really think you need to go back and really read the article. I think you're letting your ideology get in the way of the facts.
Mea Culpa: Fox News keeps making conservative-friendly mistakes {Daily Finance}
Nov 19th 2009 10:06PM So Palin is getting "huge crowds" at her book signings (ok, so a few people waited 12 hours for her to finally show up and sign her book), and it's "on the best seller list". Just because a whole lot of people are buying it doesn't mean it's any good.
in 1492, everyone KNEW, that the world was flat. Think about that, for a moment......

Nov 19th 2009 9:50PM So, instead of dealing with the actual issue, you simply want to accuse the website of having a "liberal bias". This is the same side stepping tactic the right wing Neo Cons used throughout the Bush Administration.
Instead of simply calling names, perhaps someone on the right could actually try to refute the issue itself, instead of simply pretending it doesn't exist.
Palin photographer breached contract with sale to Newsweek {Daily Finance}
Nov 18th 2009 9:08PM So, what you're really saying is that you're more concerned with just having a pretty face in the white house, as opposed to someone who can truly think, do research, consider more than the simplest option, etc? If you do, you're wasting your vote, and doing damage to My Country. I don't give a hoot what someone looks like in the White house, I care VERY MUCH how they think, how they consider complex issues. I don't want someone who can simply make simple sentences, I want someone who can THINK.

Nov 18th 2009 8:54PM The Fact that Palin posed for the photo (regardless of what magazine it was intended for or where it ended up) means that if she thought the photo was sexist, then why did she allow it to be taken in the first place? Personally, I think this is just another ploy to get attention.
As far as her book is concerned, several reviewers have found discrepancies with her "facts", and her only response is "they're liberals". That's a lazy cop out, because she's not dealing with the real issue brought up, just calling names.
That's certainly not the mentality I want in the White House.
Parents Television Council Objects to 'Gossip Girl' Threesome, But Will Anyone Listen? {Inside TV Blog}
Nov 8th 2009 4:17PM Folks, they put things like this in thier shows because it makes people watch them. Simple as that. if you object to the violence and sex on tv, then all you have to do is SWITCH IT OFF. Nobody's forcing you to watch it, are they? Read a book, watch a movie, go out for a walk in a park, do something with your kids, or the whole family. Why is this such an issue?
It's the end of the recession as we know it. Why don't we feel fine? {Daily Finance}
Nov 3rd 2009 10:45PM We the people, need to stop voting for EITHER of the two major parties, and start running for public office ourselves, and putting REAL independants, and other party people in congress. Think about this for a moment. what do you suppose would happen if in 2011, EVERY seat up for grabs went to someone OTHER than a republican or democrat? You'd see cat screaming all over the lobbyist offices for days. You would be cutting the special interests right out of congress, and seriously, that is what it will take to turn this country around. Simple as that, folks, time to step up to the plate, and stop expecting either major party to do anything for you.
Bernanke urges Congress to overhaul financial regulatory system {Daily Finance}
Oct 23rd 2009 2:30PM if you don't like congress, vote them out. but don't simply vote for "the other party", vote against BOTH the major parties. you can count on the fact that anyone who advertises on TV is getting big corporate bucks to do so. Instead of voting for one of the two major parties, vote an independant into office. Hell, run yourself. This will never be a Govt FOR the people until it's a Govt. OF the people. That means you and me, folks.
