What to do with that worthless stock? {BloggingStocks}
Jul 3rd 2007 2:33AM Donald,
It is possible that he meant another company. Based on the information that he sent us it was impossible to tell for sure, but the Uniroyal Technology company is the only Uniroyal company that is still trading. Yesterday after posting this post I sent Brian an email asking him to review this post and let us know if it is indeed another company and we will look into that for him if that is the case.

To get lean, sexy, and rich: Get out of debt {BloggingStocks}
Jul 2nd 2007 7:41AM Some of the best advice any of my bloggingstocks colleagues have given in a long while. Credit card debt is one of the most crippling facts of life for a HUGE percentage of Americans these days, and the numbers of households running record high credit debt is only rising.
I agree with Gary that the first step to financial independence and success is eliminating your credit card debt and living within your means, and putting a little aside each month... its the best recipe for success
Refinery production slips again {BloggingStocks}
Jun 7th 2007 5:15AM I don't think we are going to move up that high, but I do think its a distinct possibility that we will see oil trade up to the mid to upper $70's before the end of this summer. A lot will depend on the hurricane season.
Gasoline I would imagine would not move much more higher than 3.30 or 3.40 a gallon, assuming that refineries are able to rise, and stay, abover 90% capacity.
Holy $#!@ - John Schneider's General Lee sold for nearly $10 million on eBay! {Autoblog}
May 5th 2007 6:52AM Kenny Wayne Sheppard has a much better version of the general lee. this is either (1) a fake bid in which case who cares, or (2) someone with money to burn looking to own a piece of TV (not american, but TV) history. either way, who really cares.
i like where someone said: "Hmmm, maybe if David Hasselhoffen sobers up he can sell his K.I.T.T"
right on man!!! I would kill to own the KITT car. that thing was awesome!

Hello and thanks for your response. Yes, the company did raise their dividend, up from 32 cents per share to 35 cents.

Students dead in shooting at Virginia Tech: Will campus security get better? {BloggingStocks}
Apr 16th 2007 2:28PM Being an alum of Virginia Tech this is definitely some shocking and saddening news.
As you noted in your article, the dorms on campus do have security features in place which can be easily sidetracked. At least until now that is. I suppose students will start to think twice about letting strangers into their buildings, but the real problem would be, how can you tell who is going to be the next person to flip out and start on a shooting spree? Obviously no one would think that their friend would be capable of performing such an act until after it had already been committed.
Adding locks or security to classroom building would be a nice touch.. but how feasible is this? Maybe at some smaller universities this could be done, but on a campus as large as Virginia Tech it would be impossible. Maybe classrooms could start to be locked once the class has started, but there is no feasible way to lock the buildings as a whole. there are just too many students that have to have the access to these areas.
My heart goes out to all the students and families that are effected by this tragedy.

Oil stocks I love {BloggingStocks}
Mar 30th 2007 6:09AM Thank you Tim and Mike for your suggestions.. I will be taking a look at both of these stocks today!
Fred,
I agree with you on PCU (disclaimer I do own a substantial amount of this stock). I think copper is a great investment these days, particularly with the increasing demand from China as they continue to build infrastructure. You may also want to check out FCX which is another copper holding I recently took a position in. It has some really potential as well. FCX doesn't have the same yield impact that PCU (with 9.6%) has, but still can pull you in 1.6%. Not great, but at least you get a little payday on the dividends.
I will definitely take a closer look at the other stocks you suggested over this weekend and get something written up on them.
Thank you all for you ideas and opinions.

Money Shots: who is running the IRS? {BloggingStocks}
Mar 10th 2007 4:59AM KG,
Thank you for your reply. I should have used the term "rules" instead of law. The main point was that I found it pretty strange that the IRS would be asking for tax lawyers to come up with new "rules".
And IRS lawyers will have the ultimate say in the new rules that the tax lawyers work up.
According to Donald L. Korb, the I.R.S. general counsel, I.R.S. lawyers will still review any new rules before they are final.
