Feb 9th 2010 9:30AM I agree with your point about holding up Tebow's mother's choice. The point is, she had one, which Focus on the Family certainly wouldn't allow if given the chance. And, as you note, that choice occurred in a context which must always be considered or choices make no sense. That's the reason CBS' choice to air only conservative ads in the culture war while excluding Mancrunch and the UCC ad previously is particularly objectionable. Providing viewers with only conservative messages does not allow a choice, it prevents it.

Dec 27th 2009 8:51PM Here's the bottom line: homophobia and the discrimination which flows from it simply cannot be reconciled with the Golden Rule or the Second Great Commandment. Indeed, it flies in the face of the Gospel generally. When people use religion to legitimate social prejudices, they should not be surprised when others view their religious understandings as unworthy of respect.

And I want to tell you something. If you want people to take what you have to say seriously, express it in proper English. Otherwise it's a short distance from disregarding the means of expression as juvenile to disregarding the content as juvenile.
Perhaps we American Christians have something to learn from the rest of the world if we can just shut up long enough to listen to what they have to tell us.
