Black Friday may be first big marketing test of social networks {Daily Finance}

Nov 27th 2009 5:40PM I think the dynamics of Facebook advertising are vastly underestimated. If measured in terms of cost-per-view (if the page is allowed to fully load, it counts as a view) and taking into account the effective behavioral targeting strategies that Facebook utilizes, then social media advertising techniques are constantly delivering subliminally powerful consumer messages.

It will be interesting to see how this pans out, and Black Friday will definitely be a true test of these techniques.

The toilet-tissue issue: an environmentalists' dilemma {Daily Finance}

Oct 4th 2009 10:43PM Make like the French and use bidets! Or follow the way of the Samurai and get one of those super high-tech Japanese toilets that wash, powder and hum soft lullabies to your behind.

In many EU countries, the option is recycled TP or a bidet. Me? I'm picking the bidet, the lesser of two evils.

In all seriousness though, it's alright to educate people on the environmental impact of this but there's really no need for regulation of potty paper. Of course, because this is America, we already have celebrities championing the TP rationing cause-- sheryl crow says one square per sitting people! http://www.newsy.com/videos/how_to_handle_the_wiping_effects

the woman must not have regular bowel movements!
