Who Flies the Friendliest Skies? {AOL Travel News}
Apr 21st 2010 8:39PM You certainly have my sympathies and no, this person was not right but...please keep in mind...at United, we're not all like that...this was an unfortunate situation with one individual....not the entire workforce at United.

Apr 21st 2010 8:04PM While your vision is warm & fuzzy...wake up...it's 2010!! Flight Attendants are there is save your ass..NOT KISS IT!! The days when service was #1 is gone, just like the days when passengers were nice, said,"please and thenk you" and were realistic in their requests.

Apr 21st 2010 7:58PM Dear Mystery Flyer,
I've been a professional Flight Attendant for 33 yrs. I do fly for one of the airlines you have mentioned. Have times changed and attitudes with airline personal changed? YOU BET!! So have the passengers and their expectations. They buy a VERY cheap ticket in economy and want First Class service and think they own us! If don't like what we serve in economy, they want...no EXPECT us to give them a meal from Business Class or First Class. They DON'T listen when we say..."you must return to your seat...the seat belt sign is on." Personally I could care less if they break their neck or get hurt, however; the poor passenger who they will fall on doesn't deserve to be hurt because of someone else's ignorance. The list goes on and on and on. So YOU put a smile on your face for hours at a time, when people complain and blame you for every problem they have with traveling, from the price of a ticket to security lines to bad weather, as thought it's your fault and you're personally doing it "to" them and I'll be back to check on you. There was a time when people looked nice on airplanes, they smelled nice and said, "please & thank you." Those days are gone!! iIn spite of how horriffic passengers can be and many times are to the crews, we still can save your ass. We're there to save it, NOT KISS IT!!!!
United Airlines pilot kicks flight attendant off flight {Gadling}
Sep 14th 2009 11:30PM These are the basic facts: Completed Gen Decs were given to capt. 10 minutes after take off. Purser was in Business Class for 15 minutes, during that time capt. called for "Crew Decs." When she returned to First Class, she was told of his request. She called him and asked if she could bring them up in about 10 minutes with his meal...as security procedures require several Flight Attendants to guard cockpit. He demanded them immediately. She said ...ok. She was sitting in her jumpseat retrieving them and her phone rang again...the captain was screaming he wanted Crew Decs NOW!! She said she was right there getting them. She slide them under cockpit door as is often done to maintain cockpit security. She coordinated 2 relief breaks for the cockpit without any problem or any sign of problem with the captain. Six hours later she was awakened from her break and told to prepare for landing in Miami. She later said she immediately feared the worst...they were going to crash and they had to "prep" the cabin. As it turns out the captain told her she was being removed from the flight for safety reasons. When she asked what she did??...he said, "talk to your supervisor about it in Chicago." Another Flight Attendant was on the interphone and "verbally witnessed" the conversation. They were shocked. She went to every cabin and explained to her flying partners what she knew to be happening. She deplaned in MIA and directly dead headed to Chicago where she received a very warm reception from United management and her flying partners. The captain has been "seperated permanetly" from United Airlines and the Purser is continuing to fly her schedule...draw your own conclusion.
