Mission Aquarius: Journey To The World's Last Undersea Research Station {Gadling}

Jul 12th 2012 8:38PM I've been to Aquarius, not inside but I was on a research cruse some ten years ago that allowed us to research the wildlife in that area. I can't imagine that the days of exploring our oceans and learning to live beneath the waves are almost over. it's very sad.

Confederate Flag Gets South Carolina Neighbors Up in Arms {AOL Real Estate}

Sep 27th 2011 9:23PM rkteq,

As we are no longer at war with the confederacy, it is no longer an act of treason. And yes, you could also fly a Japanese or Russian flag. These rights are detailed to you in the first amendment of the bill of rights.

If you think about it, places of international business often fly flags from other countries. The flag etiquette is that the US flag is flown highest (in this country) other recognized countries can be either equal to or one step below, followed by state flags, next county and any other government flags, and then organization flags, followed by personal flags.

PS frankly, I don't think that it was treason anyways, most of what was done to the Japanese Americans and anyone deemed a "communist" was unconstitutional.

Confederate Flag Gets South Carolina Neighbors Up in Arms {AOL Real Estate}

Sep 27th 2011 9:11PM The civil war was only secondarily about abolishing slavery. The primary goal of the civil war was to protect state rights. Most southern land owners believed in the state's profound right to make laws above the federal laws, as was detailed in the Articles of Confederation.

"Article II.
Each state retains its sovereignty, freedom, and independence, and every Power, Jurisdiction and right, which is not by this confederation expressly delegated to the United States, in Congress assembled."

Only after years of the Articles of Confederation not really working so well, did the United States adopt our current constitution.

personal beliefs aside, The confederate flag stood for state rights. Now it stands for an unbeatable spirit belonging to a multitude of people who have survived insurmountable odds. From hurricanes to simple prejudice, the flag has endured the same way that those people whom it still represents, and only those people who are bigoted and prejudiced themselves protest a little piece of cloth that represents one of the rights detailed in the bill of rights in the American constitution.

Should Babies Be Allowed To Fly On Parents' Laps On Planes? {AOL Travel News}

Dec 9th 2010 4:02PM the problem with this idea is that it will increase the cost of travel for children and will cause more people to drive than to fly. as has been stated, flying is much safer than driving. if this is approved more children will die in car accidents, because their parent's couldn't afford to fly with children in tow.

Photoshopping in Shiseido Ad Went Way Too Far {Lemondrop}

Sep 30th 2010 8:54AM Just to make a small disagreeing point. if you look at the shadow of her leg and compare the thigh ratio of her left leg to the distance from her hip to her left knee, and take in account distortion from different distances, the leg is fine. This blogger is incorrect about where the right hand is. The hand is under her left leg next to her foot. So her hand is now accounted for as well as the length of her leg. now by looking at the density of the shadows beneath her right leg we can tell that the light was coming from the top left of the shot and that accounts for the size of her leg's shadow. which also matches. Undoubtedly they used photo-shop, but why would these designers lop off the leg only to paste it back on in such a fashion? So for all of you people who simply hate yourselves so much that you have to bash art and advertisements as unreal, I'm sorry that you have such low self-esteem but please pay attention to anatomy.

Swastikas Gift Wrap: Neither Merry nor Right {Holidash News}

Nov 16th 2009 8:20AM this isn't a swastika. A swastika is the opposite of this image, if you look, the arms of the symbol go the wrong way for it to be a swastika. I am not sure as to which culture it goes with, but it is a symbol for peace.

Dan Brown Clue Seekers Foiled by Online Scam {Switched}

Sep 11th 2009 1:33PM This one slammed me the other day... I had a hunch this is what was going on so I didn't buy the POS virus program. Instead I loaded on virus protections I trusted. they couldn't find anything and so I did nothing. My computer was fine for a while but then had a catastrophic failure. I am now reformatting my computer. I still don't think that the site is why my system crashed.
