Walking among the dead at Sedlec Ossuary, Bohemia's morbidly fascinating "Bone Church" {Gadling}

Sep 10th 2009 8:41PM This is interesting in a fun kitschy way. The ossuary at Verdun is grim, and sobering. It contains the remains of about 130,000 soldiers from France and Germany. They were killed in the Battle of Verdun ( http://bit.ly/4tx1n8 ). There were around 250,000 killed in toto at Verdun. It is a testament to modern mass mechanical slaughter.
