Ryanair dumps passengers on wrong island - doesn't care {Gadling}

Feb 20th 2010 5:28PM @Robbie - Ryan Air do fly to the airport they diverted to.

Having checked the Lanzarote airport information it seems that on Wednesday evening no flights landed at all. So hardly the fault of Ryanair to not deliver them to their destination the same day (especially if they missed the last ferry or they weren't running due to the storm).

Travel from the rest of the world to the U.S. falls ... again {Gadling}

Sep 14th 2009 1:52AM Tom - thanks for clarifying. So 3.6 million is the June monthly figure and includes Canada & Mexico?

Travel from the rest of the world to the U.S. falls ... again {Gadling}

Sep 13th 2009 3:49PM 3.6 million visitors in a year (excluding Canada & Mexico) seems wrong. Not only is it inconsistent with the tables and grapsh but also seems extraordinarily low compared with other countries.

United States considering $10 "tourist fee" to pay for promoting tourism {Gadling}

Sep 5th 2009 10:07PM I'll have to check the notes I made at the time to be sure, but I do recall when ESTA was launched being told there would be a fee in future. It hasn't taken long (ESTA went live mid January 2009 after a soft launch last year).

The laughable thing is USA still insists ESTA isn't a visa. If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, waddles like a duck, then it is a duck.

As well as tourism promotion the fee apparently will be partly used to educate visitors how to complete the ESTA process. If it is that hard that non-Americans need educating then it should be simplified (or done away with).
