Beware the hidden costs of gift cards {WalletPop}
Nov 16th 2009 8:58AM No, Ken, that is not true. I have an accounting degree and I own an independent bookstore. I sell gift certificates and sales tax is NOT added when they are SOLD. Sales taxes are added to the items purchased with the gift certificates when they are REDEEMED.
Before you can say, "Well, Booklady, perhaps you are doing it correctly, but no one else is", I will tell you that I use software for book sales & inventory and that it came with that default.
W Hotel's "Extreme Wow Suite" of the future {Gadling}
Sep 7th 2009 2:19PM If the bed and chairs are comfortable and the lighting is easy to read by, I like the "room of the future." When I arrived with my luggage and books, it would be much warmer and more personal.
The Scottsdale suite, however, seems over decorated and uncomfortable to me. I particularly do not care for the mixture of fussy crystal and smooth classic vases; and I find the mix of oriental, modern, and provincal furniture and art very jarring. I like them all, just not in ONE room.
Worst Movie Accents: 15 Manglings of the Foreign (and Southern) Tongue {Moviefone Blog}
Aug 29th 2009 11:56AM Well, except for the fact that Dennis Quaid was sexy as all get out in "The Big Easy" ... "your luck's about to change, cher."
I have never been to New Orleans (I certainly WANT to go), but a friend from there tells me that the thick accent Quaid used DOES actually persist in some areas. And as I am a life-long Southerner of a different region, I can certainly believe it.
