Author of Unauthorized Schwarzenegger Bio: Arnold Was a 'Notorious Sex Addict' and Drug Dealer {Moviefone Blog}
Oct 24th 2010 10:12PM With Michael Jackson, I feel like he was the most honorable celebrity I ever met. Definitely one of the most artistic, for sure. To this day, I truly believe that the world will never get over his death.
That tells me everything I need to know about this Boneheaded author! LMAO
Camouflage Fail {MyDaily}
Oct 15th 2010 7:14PM They were not made for "clandestine" missions. They are a natural extension of camo, and simply help hide people from enemy eyes. They are not worn by soldiers under normal conditions because they're very uncomfortable, and limit mobility. They are often worn by snipers because these soldiers need to excercise extreme camo in order to hide from counter-sniper teams (ie: enemy sniper teams looking to kill oposing snipers), and because snipers tend to stay in one spot for long periods of time--meaning that the mobility limitations caused by the suit are relatively unimportant. They are also sometimes worn by soldiers or others conducting surveillance, for many of the same reasons.
Jobs Hiring Now: 7 Industries That Need You {AOL Jobs}
Sep 11th 2010 1:06AM I think you're full of malarky, or else you work in the wrong school system. Out here in AZ I'm aquainted with several public school teachers who make VERY high 5-figure and even some 6-figur incomes. And this is for working 9 months of the year. As one of my teacher-friends put it, "It's great, I get well-paid and still enjoy almost as much summer vacation as a school kid!"
I think teachers need to wake up and realize what the rest of American workers are looking at, as far as wages and workload. Teachers are NOT underpaid and overworked. They've got it made! Particularly when you consider tenure.
Lunatic Express: The World's 10 Wildest Rides {AOL Travel News}
Jul 19th 2010 10:54PM I've worked and traveled extensively in Central and South America, as well as West Africa. I don't find anything sensationalistic about this article. In fact, I find it to be a spot-on description of the way most of the Third World gets around.
The infrastructure just doesn't support the numbers of people who desperately need to travel, so improvised mechanisms fill the gap--often operating without any real oversight. Whether or not such an article "scares people away" from visiting such places has nothing to do with the facts. And, this article struck me, given my experience, as being quite factual. Readers may find the truth "insulting," but that doesn't change the truth.
Dueling Blogs: Is Quentin Tarantino Ready for His Closeup? {Moviefone Blog}
Feb 15th 2010 6:13PM Inglorious Basterds (sic) was GARBAGE!!! I enjoy some of his work, but his films are like cotton candy in my opinion: made for children, with nothing to really sink your teeth into. QT should turn his attention to making television commercials; there, his work would have some value.
Weird sign of the day - what does this mean? {Gadling}
Aug 19th 2009 11:44AM Actually, I've seen this sign before. They are posted on the streets around the hospital in Akcra, Ghana, West Africa. The intention is that people should be quiet in that area, in order to let the patients sleep. As one of my Ghanaian friends explained to me, "You pinch your woman and she can't help but squeel. This sign tells you to keep quiet. Do not pinch her while you are here; wait until you are elsewhere."
