Feb 10th 2012 3:33PM Thanks for the nice article on Gangi. I'll be sure and check it out as it's not far from our hometown. Like you my grandfather was born there in the 1880s and came to the US. You are lucky he spoke well of the place. My grandfather's only advice about Sicily was " don't ever go there" to my mother, aunts and uncles. I keep telling anyone who will listen that things have changed in Sicily since nono left... .
Feb 10th 2012 3:22PM While it may be against the rules to consume any self carried alcohol while on a plane, carrying it if it is packaged in less than a 3 ounce bottle is not unlawful.

Oct 9th 2009 9:14AM I always get a kick out of seeing American tourists in Europe eating at Mc Donalds. Till once I got so sick of pasta and pizza, I found myself at the golden arches in Italy. It was crap sure, but it was American crap!

LA to Sydney 14 1/2 hours. It can get to be a little boring and hunger sets in on those long flights... . AlItalia seems to have a decent menu and the beer and wine is FREE.
