Dec 4th 2012 11:11PM The most dangerous part of flying somewhere is driving to the airport. Those aircraft are inspected and maintained by highly trained and skilled technicians so frequently it is almost unbelieveable. Most every system has a back-up and sometimes a back-up to the back-up. Evee air.n if an engine shuts down, there is plenty of power from the other ones to keep the plane in the air. I have worked as an aircraft technician for over 22 years.... you are safer flying then driving.
Apr 14th 2010 7:13PM Agreed that both crews did a good job.... BUT COME ON PEOPLE,,, In both cases this is something these pilots train for and are regularly tested on to keep thier rating.... THEY JUST DID THEIR JOB, WHAT THEY WERE TRAINED AND EXPECTED TO DO!!! It is the same as when you go to work and see a problem and fix it.. HEROS??? No way. People who put thier lives on the line to save others when they didn't have to, that's a hero, (fire fighters, police and the Military come to mind). Sully and this crew had thier butts on the line as much as any of the passengers did, and not by choice either.
YES, GREAT JOB GUYS! Hero status? Sorry, no way.
By calling everyone who does thier job a hero it devalues the title for the ones that truely are. Think about it.
Nov 28th 2009 9:17PM I didn't like Conan before he moved to the tonight's show and like him even less now. I have watched him twice to give him a chance and stick by my earlier decision not to watch him. It was a very stupid mistake to move Jay. Hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!!
Aug 12th 2009 10:48PM Bill's wife on post #3 is only $9.95 but Tammie on #7 is up to $27.00. Talk about inflation! I wonder if Tammie can cook AND clean house??
