Survey Suggests American Airlines Has Rudest Employees Among Domestic Carriers {Gadling}

Dec 14th 2012 8:20AM How true! I have issues with people who fly thinking they are the only passenger on the flight. Jamming the overhead, bulging out of their seats into my seat, chewing with their mouths open, drinking early and/or too much booze, the ones behind me kicking my seatback or allowing their child to do it and those who reek of smoke. My pet peeve is those who stand in the aisle as soon as the plane touches down, despite the instructios to remain seated until the plane come to a complete stop and then to exit the plane when advised by the pilot or attendants. They whack me with their carry on luggage and hang over me behaving very badly. And incidentally, the attendants are not the TSA, it is not their fault that passengers wear belts, laced shoes or try to carry 5 lb salamis through customs and are delayed, that is simply personal stupidity!

Dec 14th 2012 8:06AM Flight Attendants are not "at your service"" they are ultimately responsible for your health and safety. Bringing you your food and drinks is secondary to your safely arriving at your destination. They are essentially on their feet for hours at a time, sometimes work multiple flights in a 24 hour period and must deal with very
demanding passengers (there is always at least one person who makes impossible demands on them) who think they are on a private flight.

I think people need to grow up and take responsibility for their own behavior.

Dec 14th 2012 7:55AM I too use United Airlines and I have never had a problem. I flew extensively over the last year to Ireland and have always found the staff to be helpful, professional and very pleasant. No complaints and I will always use their services.

What next! I love my fireplace, and love the smell of wood fires. One of the things I miss most is the smell of burning leaves in the autumn- I know, I know - but I still miss it!

The Word 'Retard': Stop Using It {ParentDish}

Mar 6th 2011 2:38PM It could be worse. Pleople could be calling people with developmental issues "Calrlie Shhens" Now that would piss me off!

The Word 'Retard': Stop Using It {ParentDish}

Mar 6th 2011 2:35PM The word meand to slow down or impede, I refuse to not use a word correctly. It is not my responsibility to be the word police. If I find a word being used incorrectly I consider the source and move on, Unfortunately another repulsive word will be used by misanthropes in olace of the current one.

TSA Considering Major Airport Security Shakeup {AOL Travel News}

I may consider flying if these changes go into effect. But for now, until the administration starts having me file a "drive plan" I'll drive to areas of interest in THIS country. I enjoyed flying for years, primarily back and forth to Europr, and I loved it. No more. Im a tiny white woman with children in college and not a threat to anyone, but the last time a flew I was searched and searched again as well as having some pervert go through my lingerie, while two swarthy, turbanned, non english speaking men breezed through security-no one wanted to appear to be biased/ Give me a break.

World's Largest Gay Cruise Sets Sail on Sunday {AOL Travel News}

Feb 5th 2011 2:18PM I feel much the same about Black History month, or black studies in schoo;s, or womens studdies in schools offered as credit classes. If I asked for white history month, or white studies in schools can you imagine the firestorm, how about the United Caucasian Colleeg Fund? Being different or minority does not imply inequality or inferiority. Common sense needs to be used at some pont.

I am always offended by ANY public display of affection-regardless of the sexual oeientation of the individuals involved. Whay do so many gay people make it their mission to advertise their sexual preference? I can walk down the street or go to a bar without yelling from the roof tops "hey, look at me, Im straight and I'm proud" Dressing provactively isnt attractive to anyone - I do have friends who have a long term relationship , are members of the community (yes, we are all aware of their relationship) they belong to the same church and civic groups as many of us. They have a civil union and don't wan't to use the term maried because they feel marriage, or the word marriage, applies to a man and woman. Sometimes it just is what it is and I don't need some outre individual acting foolishly in the name of sexual equality. Do what you want, with whomever you like, but please stop with all the in your face stuff!
