Sequestration Will Have Deep Impact On National Parks {Gadling}

Feb 21st 2013 11:28PM The entrance fees,as they are, are not enough? Maybe the NPS should be self suffiecient. The parks may be less crowded, less human impact, and more enjoyable.

A Solo Stroll Through Baghdad {Gadling}

Dec 16th 2012 8:02PM Being stationed in Ft. Bliss in 1978, I knew a few Kuwait and Jordan soldiers. I've seen wall lockers with loaves of bread, and stacks of bread on thier plates in the chow hall. They don't have white bread in the middle east and never knew what they were missing. They love the stuff that we take for granted.

Foreclosed Homeowner 'Booby-Traps' Home {AOL Real Estate}

Sep 28th 2011 11:06AM The low mortage rates are a little misleading, unless you stay in your home for a while. I believe the way most mortage payments work as your payments start, 10% goes to principle and 90% is intrest, which reverses toward the end of the term. Money is thrown away to the bank, at first. Toward the end of the term, the bank may call, perhaps with a deal, to pay your mortage off early, for you virtually have a cheap loan. Considering the average length of home ownership is 6 years, banks generally do pretty good.

The Best and Worst States for Small-Business Taxes {AOL Small Business}

Mar 5th 2011 4:39PM Just compared stats. Lower corporate tax rate states have the lowest unemployment. A notable exception is Nevada. Looks like high unemployment states must raise corporate taxes to pay for unemployment benefits. Somebody I know lost her job, and receiving unemployment, because the company moved from California to Tennessee because perhaps of this.

Emptying the Nest: Q&A With Author Dr. Brad Sachs {ParentDish}

Jan 30th 2011 7:05PM My dad was difficult to live with which motivated me to be self reliant, conditons that I must live by because "I was living under his roof".
No way was I going to be a crumb bum 24 year old living under my parents (dads) roof. I was looking foreward to getting out of the house, to take control and charge of my life so I can live free, it's not for free, but I'll take it.
Being a difficult parent might help empty the nest.
