The Importance of Resume Keywords {AOL Jobs}

Nov 10th 2010 9:40PM EXCELLENT ARTICLE... WELL WRITTEN.. TO THE POINT.. GREAT TIPS...

MY ONLY PROBLEM IS I CAN'T WIN A MASTER'S CHESS GAME AGAINST THE COMPUTER... HOW AM I GOING TO WIN THIS GAME AGAINST AN ATS PROGRAM.

EMPLOYERS ARE PUTTING NEEDLESS REQUIREMENTS IN THEIR JOB DESCRIPTIONS, AND IF YOU DO GET AN INTERVIEW, THE INITAL ONE IS USUALLY WITH SOMEONE THEY FOUND IN THE EMPLOYEE'S LOUNGE WHO KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT THE POSITION.

MY BEST INTERVIEWS HAVE BEEN WITH C LEVEL EXECUTIVES CONTACTED THROUGH NETWORKING.

GETTING THROUGH AN ATS PROGRAM IS LIKE WINNING THE LOTTERY.

Utah: Head West, Job Seekers {AOL Jobs}

Oct 22nd 2010 9:55PM Steve... it was the Republican Party who got us into this mess... Utah is conservative...and they managed to keep from getting caught in the landslide of graft, greed and corruption of corporations through great fiscal management...

This economic mess has nothing to to with the Democrats.. it was inherited, and will take as long ( 8 years) to get out of it as the Bush Administration took to get into it....

U need an enema Bubba...You are soooooooooooooooooooooooooo fullachit..ur probably going to implode before the midterms...

Get the GOP back in power, and we'll never get out of this mess .... eeeeeshhhh

You right wingers are something.. you pass some rancid gas in the express elevator half way to the penthouse, and then blame it on the guy next to you.

Doesn't work in real life.. but it seems to work in politics...go figure.

and I don't care if you fire back at me.. I stand on facts.

Oct 22nd 2010 4:02PM LOL CYDNEY... IT'S HARD TO TALK ABOUT MORALITY AND GOLDMAN SACHS IN THE SAME CONTEXT...I wounder how that's going to play out... maybe they'll get a moral compass and return all the money they screwed investors out of.

Oct 22nd 2010 3:59PM Amy... without experience, especially in your field, VOLUNTEER...VOLUNTEER...VOLUNTEER... INTERN..INTERN..INTERN.

Most places will count that in place of paid experience.

The McChrystal Scandal: How Would You Handle It? {AOL Small Business}

Jun 24th 2010 6:34PM It seems that most of the people posting comments are not former military, and don't have a concept on the Oath that these people take, and that the President of the United States is the Commander-in-Chief of the U.S. Military establishment.

Included in that oath are a sylabus of do's and don'ts, and unfortunately General McChrystal screwed up. And he knew it, and he knew what to expect.

Does Douglas McArthur ring a bell to any historians and traditionalists in here.

Same thing 60 years ago in Korea, and Harry Truman had the hutzpah to do what was expected...Along with President Lincoln in the Cival War, and President Washington in the Revolutionary War.

Running a corporation is a little different that running a country.

Namby Pamby won't cut it.

General McChrystal broke the rules. His odds on dieing in combat in Afghanistan were much lower than his being replaced by the President after the gaffe he and his staff pulled.

We lost a great General, but he should have known that staff meeting was going to get published. Rule of thumb.... You run a war like a war..you run a business for media pop, and personal gain.

It's a travesty to see so many posts criticizing the President for making the correct decision. The man just can't do anything right in the eyes of just blind hatred and bigotry. Geesh.. just come out and say you didn't want a Black American in the White House, You still don't, and it doesn't matter how right he's been over the past two years.

President Obama will be just very well by history, but like Harry Truman, he will get the hell beat out of him while he's in the White House.

Wake up America... we do have a great system, and a truly great President...and i'm a Republican before you start slinging mud.

Hire This Guy #2: Randy Thornton {AOL Jobs}

May 10th 2010 6:13PM Dear Randy.....

I feel your pain brother...

One month after receiving an award for OUTSTANDING SALES ACHIEVEMENT, I was summarily fired over the phone on my BIRTHDAY for non performance...

Very Vague on the reasons also...

But.. I Sport Chuted into another career with a soft landing on the Target, and spent 12 years making an ton of money and having the time of my life, making friends, clients, and eventually starting my own business, which grew out of a life long hobby.

I just retired, and, damn, I'm ready to go back to work after six months.

Who wants to hire a 60 Year Old ???... Someone our own age group, who can appreciate what talent is, and the fact that you're going to be working for the next six or seven years, not two or three like our " budding 23 year old genius" who is going to cost the company a small fortune in start up mistakes.

Network your way into the Who's Who, including that THIRD PLACE FINISH in IOWA... right about now, he could use some REAL TALENT on his staff, especially someone who will turn off the MIKE when his VP is around...lol

I just know that you too will land on your feet, using all the life long skills you've learned, the life long relationships you've developed, and the strong faith you have in your abilities.

Good luck.. I hope you become a POSTER CHILD for us BOOMERS.
