NASA Tells Us Why The World Won't End With The Mayan Calendar Next Week {Gadling}
Dec 17th 2012 6:01AM It really doesn't matter. Either the world will end or it won't. Either there will be a major disaster or there won't. Either the human race will go on or it won't.
Either way, we have no control of the future only of our own present.
Atheist Patrick Greene, Who Threatened to Sue Over Courthouse Nativity Scene, Sparks New Controversy {AOL Real Estate}
Nov 25th 2012 7:03AM Why not post his sign, the paper will disintegrate with the first rain or snow, and beneath it post a list of all the donors who paid for the rest of the scene.
Couple arrested after refusing to pay tip at Pennsylvania pub {Daily Finance}
Nov 21st 2009 8:11AM A tip is not a given. It is part of your salary but as with all pay, it must be earned. Saying that servers in the HOSPITALITY field should automatically receive a tip is like saying that the employer should pay them if they show up for work or not.
I have worked on straight commission for many years and worked in the food industry before that. If I don't take care of my customers, ignore them or am rude, they don't buy from me and I get no income. The company doesn't pay me just for showing up. Why should a server (note the name and its meaning) be paid for non-performance?
After being in the industry for a number of years, my husband and I expect good service and will tell the manager if we are treated exceptionally well as often as we will inform management of extremely poor service.
If you don't like catering to customers, even the difficult ones, find another line of work.
Rappers or Car Designers: Who Should Appear in Car Ads? {Blackvoices Autos}
Aug 1st 2009 7:00PM When I was growing up in the 50's car manufacturers would unveil their new lines on television by sponsoring an entire episode of a popular series. I remember a number of years sitting with my Dad watching Bonanza in Septermber to see the new models. This went on for years with the stars of the shows touting the features of the sponsers cars. As long as the celebrity is someone without too much controversy surrounding them and the ad is done in good taste. I see no problem.
