The Country's Biggest Tourist Trap: South of the Border {Gadling}
Jul 18th 2011 2:38PM the signs about 100 miles out are tacky to say the least. south of the border has the highest gas prices that is all along I 95 so dont ever stop there. the place is filty and is due for a complete overhaul to say the least. or maybe its just time to tear the whole place down and rebuild. all the restaurants and motels are filthy. the merchandise you van buy there if you want to waste your money is horrible. so why bother even spending your time here at all. go down the road and you will get better gas prices, better healthier food, better and cleaner hotel/motel accomodations or even a cleaner campground to spend your night. i would never stop her again... the last time i did it was about 15 or so years ago and i thought i saw all kinds of roaches and other crawly stuff in my food, etc. never again. we laugh when we see the sign and say ok pedro i will just pass you up for a cleaner place to eat, gas up, and rest at. hey even rest stops are cleaner than south of the border...all you can sy about this place is go away and build a cleaner place on the highway for people to stop at. evne the truckers for the most part have said this recently. they no longer stop here and go for cleaner places to eat, and rest at...this place is real garbage.....
Pet Resort Near Disney Opens {Pawnation OLD}
Sep 1st 2010 10:52AM I frequently go to disney world and stay in fort wilderness campground with my dog. we utilize the pet loop all the time. it is fabulous. my dog loves the camping experience with us and loves his daily walks around the pet loops. he is friendly and socialable. he loves to stop by the other campers at their sites and also loves meeting all the other dogs camping in fort wiilderness campground. i would not board him at all. this is one of the features i love about fort wilderness campground.. it only costs me $5 a night extra. so why would in spend much more money using the best friends pet care. also many years ago i also had a rabbit with us camping along with our do. he is no longer living but when he was and i had him outside of our camper many campers would love seeing him too. so i would never use best friends at all.
in fact all campers love to take their pets with them where ever they camp. i have gone to many campgrounds on the east coast and that is what campers love the most, having their pets with them in their campers.
The Real Truth About the "Do Not Call" Registry {AOL Small Business}
Jul 8th 2010 7:35PM not only are they calling you early am like 8 am but even as late as 10 pm still. did you ever get a call from heather from credit card services. she is calling often with a call that goes like this" hi this is heather from credit card services" your account is not over due and you do not owe on your bill, however we cn reduce your credit casrd rate. just click and speak to us." well i called the #9 they advised me to call and got jason and told him if i get one more call i will report him and any others as i am registered on the DO NOT CALL LIST. I told him I want his personal ID # his SS# and his personal address and phone # also the company he is working for as they are in violation of the do not call list.... usually these people will hang up on you hen you resrt to this comment.
I did call one of my credit cards to ask if they knew anything of this practice and to tell them I am on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY. They advised me not to answer to this type of call information as it could be a scam and do not reveal any personal information unless you the caller personally make the call. SO remember DO NOT CALL REGISTRY is still being violated by many companies as they have found a way to get around this and still make these calls at any tim e during the day. In other words.. BUYER BEWARE!!!! do not give out any personal information unless you personally make the call to avoid being scammmed or plished or any other method they wish to use on you. signed alice
Luxury Resort for Pets Opens Bookings at Disney World {AOL Travel News}
Jun 29th 2010 3:14PM we have spent over 12 visits to fort wilderness campgraound in disney world with our dog who stays with us in our camper. you have to make your reservation request for the pet loop when you go there if you own your own camper.
our dog really enjoys this when we take him with us and loves to spend time with us in the camper. when we return daily from our adventures in the parks etc he loves his daily walks around the pet loops and visits other pets and says HI AND I AM HERE TOO JUST LIKE YOU. He takes my husband and daughter for many walks around the pet loops doing his business and making his calls to other campers asking them to pet him and be friendly.
we enjoy taking him with us and have him with us at the same time. you can use the pet center for a fee and remember you must be available during their working hours to take them for there walks during business hours. they are open i believe from 8 am till about 10 pm. for a fee they do feed them and they are in a cage most of the day i believe. also you must bring any special diet your animal uses as they only have one brand of food so if you animal is on a special diet you must supply it to them. nobody i believe is in the pet center during after hours so you animal is there with only the other animals. i have never used this service as i have always made my reservation in fort wilderness campground for our dog to camp with us. as i have stated we enjoy this and find it very convient for us.
we have spoken to other campers and they too bring there animals with them in their own campers. you cannot bring your animals to the rentals though as this is not allowed by law. so if you wiosh to travel and rent a trailer at fort wilderness campground you have to use the pet resort. this advice is only for those of you who have your own camper or motor home. make sure you do have air conditioning in your vehiicle while your animal is with you as they are not allowed to be without it according to florida law. also bring all medications for your pet, and most of all bring your pet shot history and vet certificate with you if you use the pet resort or your own camper for emergency use. this is very important.
i always carry a copy in my tow vehicle and also my camper. i have had an experience once of having to visit a medical facility for my dog when he became sick in florida and the vet asked me for this information. this is why i recommend you arry it both in your tow vehicle and camper and or motor home.
dogs love to travel. so of course take them with you. have fun with them just like you do with any of your other travels.
Luxury Resort for Pets Opens Bookings at Disney World {AOL Travel News}
Jun 29th 2010 1:05PM my husband and my daughter and I have been to disney world about 1 times. we go camping here so we usually book the pet loop so that our dog stays in our camper. we walk him in the assigned loop reserved for pets. its fabulous. he loves being with us this way and we love having him with us too. all you must do when booking your reservation for fort wilderness campground is to advise them you wish the pet loop. you pay an extra $5 a day for you camping fees. this way you animal is enjoying his stay with you instead of in the pet center. also he can be walked at any hour that you return from your daily excersion to the parks.
unfortunately when using the best friends pet center has a draw back. they are only open certain hours and if you chose to spend a long day in a park you must interupt it to come back to walk you pet as they do not do it for you. also should you animal have a desire to go for a walk during their non operation hours at night and needs to relieve himself nobody is at the center to do this. also remeber you must carry your own food for them should they be on a special diet. yes i know you do this too when he is in your camper, but it is certainly much easier to leave his food for him in your camper and also his water supply.
our dog loves his daily walks through the per kloops and is very socialble with other animals and often will walk several times around the pet loops checking out campers and stop to say HI I AM HERE TOO!!!
of course you can only do this should you have your own camper. you cannot do this if you are renting one of the fort wilderness campground campers. this is one of the benefits that disney world started many years ago. so many campers that we have spoken to have enjoyed this feature now in the campground.
it is a fla. law that no animals are allowed to be left in a non air conditioned car at any time. I totally agree to this. our campr is totalled air conditioned. he is safe and he isw comfortable to be left in the camper while we are away and greets us when we come back to the camper. i highly recommend this procedure, however should you not have means for this type of means for your pets then i agree with best friends being used. just remember what i have mentioned and make your arrangements accordingly.

Fixing Aggressive Dog Behavior {Pawnation OLD}
Jul 31st 2009 6:12PM i agree with my daughter jessica. bandit is our loveable dog that we have had for 15 yers now. we have no problem with him and in fact our vet has stated to us many times that he is the best eskimo dog he has in his practice. so lovable and sweet. in fact more so than other eskimo dogs in his practice.
we live on a street where people use our driveway as a short cut to their place of worship. bandit only barks to greet them and say pet me pet me i am adorable.
he has never bitten anyone except when he gets into something to eat that he should not have as it upsets his stomach. his diet has to be monitored to prevent any bowel problems becasue of that and then will need medication to correct his wrong doing...that will only be his family and it just a small nip not a real bite.
he loves his treats daily and tells us he wants them daily. his clock goes off at 6 pm to tell us he wants his treats.
we have people coming in our home all the time and they sleep over and bandit is known to do bed check. he is an amazing dog. we have met campers who have the same breed and they say the same thing about there eskimo dogs too. perhaps its all in the training. they train easily but you have to work at it constantly.
we are campers and have a motor home and he loves to go camping and tells us when he wants to go out to do his business. at home he barks to tell us he has to go out and he is put on the lead and then will bark to tell us he wants to come back in the house again. he loves to make snow angels in the winter and can be quite comical at that. no problem with this breed. he has been to disney world about 10 times and loves his walks and greeting people and other dogs too. he is super friendly. he has been on the chesapeake bay fishing and catching crabs and loves it. he just loves to be with people all the time.
our other daughter has a beagle and he is a HORROR!!!! now that dog is vicious.....and nasty... i love my eskimo dog better as he is better trained. they use eskimo dogs in circus acts too.
