May 9th 2011 3:59PM There are obviously a few writing in this blog who have never had to deal with addiction. Please do some research before judging someone. Addiction is something that no one chooses as a career path. It's a disease that is incurable, progressive and fatal if left untreated. At least Whitney knows this and is trying to find herself.
I'm curious about HIPAA, I wonder how her enrollment was deemed to be public knowledge?

Mar 2nd 2011 3:29PM That begs a huge question, if the benefits run out what is your status? I suspect you no longer count as unemployed so for that we can add a few more million people and then we have the illegal invaders taking 12 - 14 million jobs that most people would take, especially if they have no $$ for food or housing.

Feb 24th 2011 5:16PM SJ Airport has long impressed me as perhaps the most dismal and miserable airport for a major city in the entire US. The wasted money they spent over the past 10 years has just made it much worse. I hate to fly out of there. Flying in isn't so bad but leaving is bad, poor planning, poor logistics planing, poor everything. SJ should have just taken over Moffett Field from the Navy and enjoyed the longest runway in the western US with lots of nice room to do something. My 2 cents as a long time resident of SJ and a million miler.

Jan 25th 2011 1:12PM Unfortunately our work situation started with NAFTA and has been going down hill since. We can thank Congress (both houses and parties for that. Obama is going to create jobs, unfortunately they will be the $10 an hour jobs that the illegal's get, no more $70 an hour jobs are being created due to corporate greed. The people listed as unemployed do not count the ones who have given up or are no longer on unemployment so my guess that number should be closer to 25%. We are so screwed until we get rid on illegal's, and get help from the government protecting the jobs we have from going off shore. I'm now a $10 an hour person, I've trained my last two replacements to take their skills back to Bangalore. Two graduate degrees and I can find a job in my area of expertise.

I expect to hear about all the "new" jobs being created in the State of the Union, but what is wrong is the types of jobs being created. We are creating $10 an hour service jobs and losing the $70 jobs off shore which means reduced taxes, increased welfare, food stamps etc, it's a spiral down. The government need to protect US commerce, make sure that corporate greed is not in control. If a job is shipped over seas, the company has to create a similar paying job in the US. The government and corporate greed has trashed this once great country, it will take generations to recover totally to where we were post WWII, if ever. The debt alone will crush my great grandchildren.

As Teddy Roosevelt said, American first, if they want to hyphenate their origin, make American first or they are welcome to leave. This is not about religion, no one is telling the girl she can't practice her religion, it's about our culture and respect for our once great country.

Dec 22nd 2010 11:33AM Actually Sheriff Joe has saved millions of dollars, his recidivism is very low which is a savings, the ACLU has not been able to process a case for cruel and unusual punishment which is a huge saving and then to get rid of so many criminals is a saving to our health care system, schools and generally our society. He in fact has made Maracopa a safer community to live in, lower crime, less rape, murder robbery all because illegals do not want Bologna sandwiches and have to wear pink underwear. Imagine what would happen if the federal government actually took to defending our boarders seriously? He is only one man and 34 deputies yet he prosecutes more criminal invaders than HomeLand Security and their 150,000 people. Go Sheriff Joe and thanks for helping to make our country safer.
