Olive Garden & Red Lobster to raise prices after a painful quarter {WalletPop}

Sep 19th 2008 11:28AM wait a sec...

doesn't economics 101 teach us that as demand goes down and supply goes up, prices will come DOWN?

on what planet would it make sense to raise prices when people are already NOT going to your restaurants?

i hope their stock takes a huge hit on this latest news...

The Do's and Don'ts of Do-It-Yourself Dye Jobs {oldstylelist}

Jan 29th 2007 6:36PM Just like Andrea, I too, have a special needs child with Autism. Because his health and well being are the most important issue for me right now, I no longer have my hair colored at all.

I stopped having my hair colored/ highlighted/ foiled etc. at a salon b/c they kept ruining my hair. Either the color was way off or they fried my hair from using too harsh a bleaching agent.

I get more compliments on my 'virgin' hair (meaning its not treated in any way) than I ever got from having my hair professionally done.

Jan 29th 2007 4:49PM ....955. If you can follow directions and understand the color wheel, then you can color your own hair. I have paid upwards of $300 for a cut and color and most "colorists" or "stylists" as they call themselves are overpaid people who couldn't do anything else in life. Beauty school is EASY people!!!!! Think of the IQ it takes to pass.... those are the people who are coloring and styling our hair... I have never heard of anyone in a salon belonging to MENSA. I think I would rather brave it myself.

I totally agree...I mean, I'm not putting down colorists at all, as I have had some wonderful stylist's in the past whom I have greatly loved, admired and respected...but don't try to pretend that having studied color theory and such somehow puts you in the top echelon of geniuses.

Jan 29th 2007 3:15PM I just have a quick comment on Pantene... I personally cannot use it. It leaves a dulling residue on my hair and it also seems to dry it out. My sister, on the other hand has used it for many, many years, and she has the most incredibly soft, shiny, healthy, thick hair.

We both have healthy, shiny hair, but for some reason, I have to use the more expensive salon brands and she gets away with using the more 'budget friendly' products...

And one quick response about at home vs. salon dye jobs...I had so many professionals ruin my hair by using the completely wrong color, or too much bleach, that I found it necessary, not once, but TWICE to have to cut off all of my hair and let it completely grow out without color.

I would NEVER attempt to dye my hair at home, in fact, I don't even color it anymore ( I haven't colored it in five years. ) BUT I know people who do color their own hair and its gorgeous. I think that its OK either way. Some professionals are wonderful and can work magic but at the same time, I have encountered many colorists that barely made it through high school and you expect me to believe that they are somehow MORE intelligent than the average woman b/c they took a few classes in hair color?

The right-hand ring: Good idea, or just good marketing? {Stylelist}

Dec 1st 2006 10:29AM "18. At 14 she is hottie
18 she is experienced at manipulation, deceit, and mind-games
21 she is party girl college student .. sex with strangers is FUN !!
After a few abortions, maybe an STD or 2, now she has lived with at least several lounge lizards (her choice .. they turn her on)
Finally marries some poor fool, who doesn't know her games .. she spends 4 times what he makes, demands the NEW SUV, BIG house, most expensive EVERYTHING .. then feeling comfortable .. lets herself go, gaining 50 + pounds. Divorce is inevitable, since she is impossible to deal with. HE loses .. she quickly loses the weight, grabs the next available guys, and, after many flings, decides MEN are the cause of all the world's problems.
Then, she butches off her hair, buys a right hand ring, shows up at all the man-bashing protests, votes for ABORTION but NO WAR, TREE-HUGGING, but no MAN - HUGGING, gets a dog or cat, and llives, MARRIED TO HERSELF.
This is the result of 40 years of man-bashing feminism .. no wonder men are so turned off by the American women. "

LOL....I LOVE YOU! I thought I was the only one who thought this way!

Nelly Furtado on breastfeeding and weight loss {ParentDish}

Aug 28th 2006 9:18PM I totally agree with Nelly! I think most women probably DO lose weight by simply nursing day and night but NOT me...I gained! It wasn't until my daughter weaned herself at about 13 months old that my weight began to come off easily....now that she's 16 months...I have lost over 50 pounds and with little or no effort on my part....
