Jul 13th 2009 1:51PM Thank you Larry.... finally, someone who gets it. I started flying in 1974, got 10 years experience and 5000 hours before being hired by CO. College was not an option, but mandatory, as was the B-727 F/E ticket. Today, airlines are hiring 350 hour pilots with no experience. I retired 11 years early.... the skies are not safe, and getting worse every year. Just look at the accidents.

What has happened is that you have lost more of your freedom to choose.... when has the government EVER known what is best for you and your family. my guess, you're a liberal democrat who wants to be taken care of from cradle to grave. Follow the timeline for seat belts as an example..... look at some of the state laws concerning motorcycle helmets, or for that matter, bicycle helmets. Do you feel what comes out of your shower head in the morning? Government mandates a specific water flow.... so now it takes you longer to take a shower, and you still don't get all the soap off. How about cap & trade (tax).... once again, it's the government that is taking away your rights, and you're paying more. Welcome to barry's new world..... that a$$ does not affect me, but i'll bet he affects you. i pay no fed taxes.... up yours barry
