Jun 15th 2011 7:39PM 40 some years ago, when I was in college, I thought it was somewhat cool that someone Hef's age (I guess around 43 to 45 at the time)if they had money, could still date someone in their 20s and reasonably believe this younger person loved you.
I even try to believe that Catherine Zeta Jones would have married Michael Douglas if he were a plumber, but then reality sets in.
When Hef says he is heartbroken, I just chuckle, not out of schadenfreude, but because as you age (I am 59) you do get wiser and realize that relationships end, it is sad, but not at all like in your 20s, when every breakup was a tragedy!

Jun 13th 2011 8:33PM First, I would think that a "Lake" would easily put out a fire. Secondly, always buy, and have at hand an appropriate fire extinguisher. (Ask the local Fire Dept. and they will advise you!)
Test it and buy another of the same type each year so you know how to use it and you know you never have an "old" extinguisher around. Property is replaceable, people are not! Just sayin'

Apr 17th 2011 6:40AM This woman's story seems disingenuous. Daryl Hannah was the woman everyone thought would marry John. Daryl Hannah was the one who John was phtographed with everywhere, until he met Carolyn Bessette. In fact Daryl Hannah and Carolyn B looked so much alike that at the time it was thought she was a temporary replacment. This woman was just one of many women John dated...don't make it sound like they almost got married

Mar 23rd 2011 2:00PM Interesting effects, though Photoshop could do this with more subtlety.
Years ago, when ditial retouching was new, a Professional Photographer friend of mine took Family Photos as part of his business. He learned that "if the Mom looks good in the photo, the photos get purchased".
So he would very subtly retouch the photos, but generally just "Mom" so that she looked relaxed, slightly younger and maybe slightly thinner. It took awhile to perfect his craft, but many women recommended him for family photos and told people he took "their best photo ever"
PS: Dad and the kids could look like zombies as long as Mom looked good, ha!

Feb 23rd 2011 4:45PM When this judge speaks of jail time, I hope he is speaking of an openly discussed Plea Bargain, otherwise he is deciding her guilt or innocence prior to trial.
The issue is not, "did she take the necklace", we know she took the necklace, the issue is, "What was her understanding regarding her possession of the necklace when she left the jewelry store."
This cannot be settled by facts, it must be settled by arguments as to "presumption of defendants action" She has walked with items before belonging to friends and others and always claimed she felt they were on loan. She may be wacky,I don't know, but every week I "take" a car from Hertz or Avis, and I only pay for its use upon its return...think about that!

I don't think people get cold feet "along the way" it usually is last minute (see Julia Roberts and Kiefer Sutherland).
Years ago, a girfriend and I, had been together for 6.5 years, and she had moved in with me while we both went back to school (living expenses were on me, but they were not lavish, believe me).
One day, I came home from work and all of her things were gone, just a note, "things were not working out..." Apparently...
Anyway, life is not straightforward, marriages fall apart (see Scarlett and Ryan) and unfortunately in romance you can't make someone love you...when its over that is it.
By the way, good luck to the attorney on finding potential mate number 2,, ha!

Nov 9th 2010 8:46PM Well, she may be spoiled, but she is also young and may want to be with her family with her first child. That having been said, I am from Cleveland, OH and I had to work one winter in Duluth, MN. I thought I knew winter, but Duluth was over the top cold.
Also, in the Midwest, there are just no true nightclubs as in Los Angeles There are clubs, but it is not like LA. LA is like Miami Vice when you want to go out, and fewer fat people at the clubs, people actually dress up and look good.

Safety are physical crimes perpetrated against your physical body, that is safety or lack of it. Someone steals my car, I am just as safe as I was before it was stolen.
