How To Fly If You're A 'Customer Of Size' {Gadling}

Nov 14th 2012 8:35AM They also delay their flights "just because its Friday) yes that s what I was told...
"Oh, it's Friday, happens all the time"
Then have no way for you to make a connecting flights, split up your party onto different flights, & different seats, leave you hanging at midnight, not offering a hotel room, or any other assistance. & to top it off, offer no apology for their disgraceful service, this happened to us less than a month ago, & we still haven't heard from them, & I wrote the day after we returned home. Doubt I ever will.

Gordon Ramsay to Be Sued by Mother-in-Law {PopEater}

May 15th 2011 2:44PM If you know anything about this man; you'd know that he began his career very early on,
studying in Paris; France for a number of years. He was already established in UK when he married.
Unfortunately, there will always be people who take the easy way out & misuse the legal system to
try to extort money. If he was fired back last year, why not file suit then? Why wait? And to punish your daughter & grandkids????? Sounds to me like Ramsay did the right thing, got rid of a leech
who was a problem. The father in law should take a leaf from GR'S book...go work for a living, & quit filing bogus lawsuits to fund your lifestyle.

May 15th 2011 2:36PM ANSWER; NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Big Brother is Watching You Snarf Those Fries During School Lunch {ParentDish}

May 13th 2011 5:25PM IT IS NOT THE SCHOOL'S JOB TO MONITOR THE KIDS!!!
IF they are so concerned, give the kids more physical activity time; more gym; more outside recess to run jump & play. Its this thats lacking; not the 1 meal a day the school provides. Look at past generations; what were they eating in school, & how much playtime outside, away from TV & Computer did we as kids, spend.
The problem with child hood obesity is not school meals, (after elementary the larger percentage of kids don't eat at school anyway). it lies with lack of activity. Kids today for many reasons; get less physical playtime; & this is the major contributing factor.
With so many texas teachers & staff losing jobs; that money could have been better spent......its time to call a halt to schools acting in lieu of parents; & get back to the business of education.

Botox for Girls? Mom Injects Daughter, 8, to Give Her Beauty Pageant Edge {ParentDish}

May 12th 2011 5:58PM Where's CPS?????????? This has to constitute child abuse, the (physical) damage done to the child will be far reaching; not to mention the emotionl & psychological effects. The woman could use some help too; she obviously has some major issues that need to be addressed!

Try This: Getting Kids Out of Bed in the Morning {ParentDish}

Mar 28th 2011 7:17PM Totally Agree!!!
I do not understand the mind set of the parents that write in whining about how their kids won't do this....or refuse to do that! Who's the adult in their homes?!?!?!
Back to basics folks, teach responsibility at the outset, & then ENFORCE IT!!
Let them get to school late (even miss it) & then have to suffer the consequences, both at home & at school. They'll learn...even if it is the hard way. Parents are so wimpy these days.

'Parentless Parents': Q&A With Author Allison Gilbert {ParentDish}

Mar 22nd 2011 2:36PM I'm sorry; but this is pathetic. Why do Americans think they're
"entitled" to the "perfect life" The 2.3 kids, dog, grandparents;
perfect house, 2 cars, vacations, aunts; uncles & grandparents,
for that all important "family" holiday picture round the food laden table
smiles in place.
That is what may be ASPIRED TO...not necessarily reality.
In the movies, & personal dreams; as we go through life planning
our perfect future; yes I'm sure we all dream of this....but lets
get real here; its not reality for everyone, in facy; probably not the majority.
Our "family" maybe anything from a single parent & kids; to a multi generational household, whatever it is;
embrace it & quit whining about what you Don't have. whether they are absent by death, or by choice; that is your reality;
You do your children a disservice by not addressing reality; surrogate grandparents!?! Come on, be honest; tell them the
truth; & then let them know; you still have parents, there are children who have no-one at all; "its not an entitlement"
I was told something years ago; as I FELT SORRY FOR MYSELF; (being one of those particular kids) & I have kept it
ever since; "THERE WILL ALWAYS BE PEOPLE BETTER OFF THAN YOU--- BUT YOU WILL ALSO BE BETTER OFF
THAN ALOT OF OTHER PEOPLE" I have used this through out my life, & used it to raise my 2 children; who also grew up
with no extended family. I suggest that when you feel either yourself; or your children to be hard done by, you think of this;
& take it to heart.

The Doggie Diaries: Fear and Suffering at the Veterinarian {Pawnation OLD}

Mar 7th 2011 11:29AM Its awful when your pets are sick without you!
One thing that helps to eleviate stress; is visit the vet or boarding before hand.
Have the pet meet the caregivers & establish some rapport! If they're not willing to take the time to do this; DON'T USE THEM...a good facility with your pets needs
a top priority will allow this. If possible; have the pet stay 1 night before the big vacation plans, not always possible but worth it if you can. You mentioned it was "crammed with more dogs than usual"; personally this would have set off alarm bells;
just as in a children's daycare; pet facilities should never be "crammed". It compromises the care in different ways; & also makes dogs far more susceptible. Lastly; I wouldn't have had the shot so close to such a stressful event. Just as in children; animals can be an unknown with shot reactions; doing it a week or more before hand would have allowed time for any reactions to show & be dealt with in advance.
Hope Pippi is feeling better & enjoying being back home!

Boy, 8, Arrested for 5th Time in 4 Months {ParentDish}

Mar 3rd 2011 4:52PM As some one who's worked in school districts; & been directly involved; let me tell you, as school staff we are SEVERELY limited (by law) in how we can handle violence directed at us! Thanks to an extremely litigious society that seeks to sue at every opportunity; even when the fault is not there; there are so many restrictions in place it is impossible to do the job effectively. And before some know-it-all (who's never been in the position) starts spouting; there are many; many instances where the staff get hurt & have no recourse. Personally; I have been bitten scratched, severely; had my nose & jaw cracked; (following a head butt) & more; trust me; we don't get paid for this abuse; but are expected to take it as part of the job; because the administrators who run the districts are terrified to deny parents/children into the district; (& who really should not be in public schools) because of the dangers of being sued.
The problem does not lie with the staff; but society in general; who refuse to accept that there really are situations in which regardless of outcome; a lawsuit does not "fix" the problem. And not everyone is "entitled" to everything just because they breathe air!!
