She had intermal memos from Store owners and managers of corporate stores asking to turn the heat down on the coffee machines. Corporate said no. That is how and why she won the award. She is physically damanged for life and McD's knew about the problem.

Oct 6th 2009 2:12PM Did you ever find one. I looked at Kohl's, Target, Sears, and on line and could not find a small appliance that was solely made in the US. Ford, Chevy, and Dodge have engines that are almost 100% foriegn. I don't think there is a whole lot of just American made any more. The unions have made it impossible to make a profit in this country. Paying the guy who pushes the broom and they guy who washes the toilets $20.00 an hour makes many companies go where the cost of labor is less expensive.

Oct 6th 2009 2:06PM Walmart is wonderful. The produce at our Walmart is the best in town. They sell the gluten free items I have to purchase every week for less than 1/2 of the local health food stores, and 1/3 less than the local grocery store. When Walmart goes into a community and a small mom and pop closes down it isn't Walmart's fault. Mom and Pop couldn't compete. That would be no different than me opening another Mom and Pop but lowering my prices to sell more volume than the other store and get more business because of my lower prices. Walmart can't close anyone down. Walmart can't even go into a town and open up without the town counties approval. Here in our area three towns have said no to Walmart so that they can preserve the small town hardware's and gift shops. Good for them. Walmart walks away and goes elsewhere. Stop blaming Walmart. They don't take homes and businesses away with eminent domain. Your not to wonderful elected officials do. They do it because they have dollar signs for eyeballs. The condo developer says "hey guys I can build 100 lake side condos and bring in 50 times the tax revenue if you just take away those 5 shacks on the lake". YOUR city officials are the ones who rubbed their greedy hands together and said OH YES! Grrrrrrr....... Another thing to think about- Mom and Pop hire 3 part time employees with no benefits. Walmart hires hundreds of people for each store, offers full insurance, 401k, stock options, and profit sharing. For those of you who think they only sell crap then you might want to go back in and look again. Lee jeans are not crap, Fruit of the Loom under shirts are not crap. Paula Deen cookware at Walmart is the exact same thing that is sold at Kohl's but Walmart has it at 20% less in cost. Why would I want to pay $15.00 for my ball canning jars at the local hardware store when I can get the exact same item at Walmart for $8.00? Stop making Walmart the bad guy. They are one of the biggest employers in this country. Put your anger where it belongs...... YOUR elected officials.

They should start using their energies to fight back against our government that wants to take away more and more of our money to pay people to sit and do nothing. You know get a new car you can't afford and let us give you cash to help out. Grrrrr..... People who have done this have just taken away a new pair of jeans from my kids. My taxes are high enough and all you are doing by taking free money from the government are making my taxes as a home owner go up more. Leave Kate and Jon alone and find something constructive to pro0test.

Aug 15th 2009 1:33PM The guy is fat. He is holding a sign. What type of taunting and teasing will his kids endure when their friends and friends parents see this sign. Kate and Jon are doing what most divorce couples are doing. IT's ALL about ME! They don't take into consideration the KIDS! If they did there would be no dating, no fighting, not nothing in front of the kids. They would stay living in the same house with separate bedrooms and make it work like the Duchess of York and Prince Andrew did for their daughters. Don't tell me I don't get it. My ex decided to divorce me. I read the book "Growing through Divorce" by Jim Smoke and learned how to do this right. The kids in the end no matter what the other parents say or do concerning you will know the truth. In the end if you choose to do it right you will be to good guy and WIN!!!!!

Mar 29th 2009 11:22PM CJ says it is sickening to see this inter-racial couple. Wow my kids find it nice to see someone like them. Most of our intimate friends are of all different backgrounds. Why are you sickened by two people of different shades of skin being together? If man and woman are made in Gods image then color has nothing to do with it. The Bible doesn't say white men are made in His image, it doesn't say a black man is made in His image, it says man is made in His image. That makes us all equal in Gods eye. I know more than 35 couples well that are all mixed up. My husband and I are Caucasian and Hispanic. Our oldest daughter is married to an Asian and our middle daughter is married to a wiry haired med to dark skinned guy. We all laugh because he is dark and also part Jewish. I think our family is doing it right. We fall in love and get married to a human being and don't worry about the shade of their skin. I moved to the south 14 yrs ago and the only people I have met that have trouble with skin color seem to be darker shaded people. My neighbors at my first house said it was the white man still holding his people back. I laughed when I looked at him with his 4 vehicles and the fact that he owned the largest and nicest house in the neighborhood. I asked who held him back and walked away. It drove him nuts that we have friends from all walks to life. We didn't fit his racial picture and it drove the guy crazy. Marrying someone with a different skin color is just that....marrying a person with a different shade of skin. We are all humans. I am not marrying a dog, goat or cow. That would be interracial. I think all of you screaming about this movie need to get a life. My kids and grandchildren are fully relating to this movie and we love it that they are not the same shade of color. Get a life and stop expecting the world to do your job. Teach you kids that color shouldn't matter. Oh and those of you who are trying to perpetuate that people wouldn't go if it had an all black cast are wrong. It is Disney and it would be a sell out no matter the cast. But let's get real.....Where in the world (even in the south) would you find anything all black. Hmmmmmm Oh I know your church. Gagggggg until I moved to the South I had never seen anything all one color in my life. Move here and you will find all black churches and neighborhoods and the people living in them wanting their kids bussed to school for diversity. I say yea right. They don't want diversity at all. They want to be able to tell me how to live but then don't do it themselves. Our local liberal paper here prints people stating that "this is our neighborhood, what do they think they are doing moving in here" These are the type of people complaining about the movie. They don't have anything better to do in their lives but complain instead of live like the rest of us and not use color as an excuse or crutch.

Dec 8th 2008 4:14AM Ron, Please to get a copy of the constitution and show all of us where the "seperation of church and state" is mentioned, listed, etc. Oh yea! It isn't there. Hmmmmm sounds to me like all you do if follow what others say and have never read the document yourself. That concept was written about in a letter by Thomas Jefferson. He wasn't even saying to seperate church and state. He was saying the state shouldn't sponsor a religion.
Please people stop allowing the media and some polititions to think for you.

Oct 17th 2008 10:25PM My husband does plumbing, electrical, roofing, etc. for his friends. He is an IT professional. No license doesn't mean he is not able to do the job and do it well. His friends love it when he helps out because it enables them to learn and do it themselves next time. Who cares if the joe guy isn't licensed. Sounds to me like the thug union is whinning.

Sep 15th 2008 9:35PM If I were Palin, even after the election I would not do any interview with Winfrey. Sarah Palin is her own woman. Good grief the woman put a plane on ebay and put the money back into the state budget. She stood up to a large oil company who said they couldn't build another pipeline. To costly they said. She called their rotten bluff and opened the bidding to anyone who would build the pipeline. Hmmmmm That same crappy oil company very quickly got in on the bidding. YES!, they didn't win. This woman has MOXIE! She has it all just like I have been told all of my 53 years. Women my age have been told since Jr. High in the 60's that we needed to fight the men to have it our way. Sarah fought and won. I believe she will make a big difference in Washington. She will find and expose waste all over the federal government. I can't wait to let this woman do her thing. She is going to make the president, John McCain look like he is standing still. Oprah, no big deal it is her show. But saying that ladies then don't whine if a gas station wants to charge $6.00 a gallon. Same principle...........Both are private businesses and should be able to run their business the way they see fit. Just my .02 from a woman who quit a career 24 yrs ago, making more than her husband, to raise the Children. Yep, and it only took 6 months to get over myself and quit whining. Since then I have had more wonderful experiences than I ever could have working.
