The Dark Side of Modeling -- We Grill the Directors (and Star) of 'Picture Me' {Lemondrop}
Sep 20th 2010 9:57PM I saw the film in NYC. I wasn't too impressed though some of the beginning credits were pretty cool. It didn't really press upon the negative side of modeling other than the last few minutes of discussion of younger models with was something to appreciate. Unfortunately, the film didn't deliver in any real discussion on the dark side of modeling with respect to discrimination against certain images, ethnicities...and issues with sexual harassment. Most of the film depicts what it's like to go to shoots...so I guess some would appreciate it....all in all the film was missing some really good potential.
How to Find Easter Eggs in the 'Paranormal Activity 2' Trailer (and See the Movie Before Your Friends) {Moviefone Blog}

Jun 1st 2010 10:07PM Polina,
I beg to differ...first off, I think men should wear clothes fitting but not too tight. It's down right unattractive and too femy for my tastes.
If women want to wear tighter clothes, that's what many American women have been doing anyway. Maybe except during the grunge years...in Seattle.
And...a big AND at that...I totally disagree with you on Europeans being more fashionable than Americans. I've been to Europe a few times, and it seems to me they do not know how to coordinate their attire like Americans do. We are more on the casual side, sure, but we're trendy and functional...many of us appreciate fashion and functional wear..it's cool to be both. Women in the States adore shoes and accessories...but we have ecclectic tastes, and I think Europeans tend to try to morph themselves as more Italian/French like or even more NYC'ish...but I think NYorkers and the Italians can pull it off with out trying to hard. France? Spain? Forget it!! and England...from what I've seen in the yachting biz, just through that scope, SO not impressed. I've always thought they've copied our style from the get go.
Give me American style. Give me some cool Converse shoes and J Crew, and life is cool. YOu can keep your black leather/gel abused hair styles/tight jeans on guys/and silly shoes that make Boy George want to vomit. Please KEEP them to yourselves.

Jun 1st 2010 9:53PM Speaking of foreign nationals..please check out my channel at youtube.com/debisis. It's basically about my experience as an American yacht stewardess and competing among some obnoxious and very illegal European, South African, Aussie, New Zealand yachties, many who come to the States looking for and gaining yacht / crew positions illegally...and much like the illegal hispanics and others..it's not as much their fault as it is OURS and the Americans who hire them!

Jun 1st 2010 9:47PM Oh please, Samantha Brown and..AOL. Both of you are just geeky critics over much about nothing.
People love to put Americans down from the way they look to the way they act. And as if our food is all bad...we got it all..GOOD AND BAD. This is the USA.
I read on this BRITISH poll, that we are the most boring and ignorant country ever (but that we're ambitious too :))...and that our food is the worst. I honestly thought it was a typo and that they got two of these countries mixed up. Then again, it was a BRITISH pole.
Americans, be proud of who you are, and where you are from. So what if we're a little loud and crass along with our Gap or Old Navy attire. (as if)
The article isn't all that critical, but I think anyone should be able to wear what ever the hell they want to wear so long as it's "universally" reasonable and no one's running around nekked.
What ever short comings Americans have as "Americans" at least many of us can point out our flaws as well as our goods without being so cynical and harsh. After being in the yachting industry while meeting some foreign nationals (mostly English international or Northern European or white SAfrian...as well as illegal employed by American owners and cpt..the idiots), I have to say that I'm really lucky to be from the States. And after being in France for a few months here and there...I'm really really super glad I was made in America.
And as for you, youngins, don't ever develop an American complex. Remember, Americans saved a lot of asses in Wars past and even present..and I'm a democrat saying so for what it's worth.
Cheers (one cool thing I got from Europe anyway)
and God Bless!

May 28th 2010 10:57PM to all my fellow silly and naive Americans, who paid for all those nice things in Dubai ...including that over priced and unnecessary pool/man made pond and in the rest of SArabia..including over priced million dollar license plates?

Letterman Thanks Officials Who Handled Extortion Case (VIDEO) {Inside TV Blog}
Mar 10th 2010 12:52PM Letterman's 'thoughtful' words? I'm guessing the AOL author is a male..idiot. This unamusing, untalented talk show host should not only have less ratings that he deserves year after year...but he should be fired for frat'ting with dumb staff members who have scary taste in men (i.e., gold diggers). This is one reason why our society is turning to -you know the rest.
