Apr 10th 2013 10:01AM Sure, but try to get approval for building a cheap homeless dwelling and you will find a huge maze of regulations all desinged to drive the price up to the same as building a Hilton hotel.

Avoiding Altitude Woes: What To Bring On Your Next Ski Trip {Gadling}

Dec 2nd 2012 10:47AM "Predisposition to AMS is subjective. Age, physiology, genetics, and physical fitness may or may not play a role."

Afraid not; it's almost entirely genetic, although influenced by age. Physical fitness plays no role whatever--although you'll be able to carry-on a lot better while bilious a if you are fit.

Staging is the most effective way to acclimatize, following the maxim: "Climb high, sleep low." Exercise at some higher elevation, then sleep at a lower one. Climb to 7500-ft and then descend to sleep at 5000-ft. Climb to 9000-ft and sleep at 7500-ft. Climb to 11,000-feet and sleep at 10,000-ft, etc.

Diamox works moderately well in many people but also causes tingling of the extremities. Ambien is a good sleep aid.

You will always be able to tell when to got to the next stage when you suddenly notice that you feel fine at wherever you are.

Nor will they be able to wander around very long on the surface for the same reason. Thus we wilk be establishing a cave village a lonbg way from home.

There are plenty of caves on Earth fromw which the inhabitants can control remote vehicles that roam the surface of Mars.

Cascading changes likely for cruise travelers {Gadling}

Jan 25th 2012 10:07AM "There are three things I like about being on an Italian cruise ship. First, their cuisine is unsurpassed. Second, their service is superb. And then, in time of emergency, there is none of this nonsense about women and children first."

Tennessee Home Burns as Firefighters Watch {AOL Real Estate}

Dec 7th 2011 9:32AM All the earmarks of a classic liberal outlook and narcissism at its finest. I am special; I am privileged. Others can pay, but I get everything for free.

Wake up you cosseted leftwingers and smell the ashes.

Crazy squirrel attacks residents of Vermont {Gadling}

Mar 18th 2011 9:46AM Unfortunately, a BB gun is not nearly powerful enough to kill (or even injure) those tough tree rats. you really need a proper pellet air gun. RWS, Beeman make fine hunting air rifles, ideally with at least 20 Lbs-ft muzzle energy.

The Word 'Retard': Stop Using It {ParentDish}

Mar 6th 2011 3:00PM I hope when bleeding hearts like these want to discuss anything, they will first hand me a list of words they donpt want to utter. The "N' word, the "R" word, the "K" word, and on and on. At this rate, we won;t be able to takl to each other because all the words of any volatile subject will be banned.

My Grandson's Meltdowns Are Wearing Us Out! {ParentDish}

Jan 18th 2011 9:08AM Why are all these women recommendd psychological strategems instead iof taking the bull by the horns. Even Super Nanny knows that the only way to break these monster kids of their balckmail is to lift them up and plop them down in a corner somewhere until they calm down. You may have to do this a dozen times or more, but evenutally, the kid gives up and realizes that you, not he, is the boss.

Hundreds of Illegal ATMs Found in Massachusetts {WalletPop}

Dec 24th 2010 4:56PM Typical Scare article based on no worthwhile facts. The scare: there are skimmers out there, and the merging of skimmers and unregistered but perfectly functioning ATMs leaves you wondering--how many skimmers are there? Of course the areporter doesn't know. It could be 10, it could be hundreds.
But why give up the chance to freightend consumers just becuase you don;t know what you;re taling about. After all, the reporter has deadlines...

Glenn Beck Rally Raises Questions {AOL Hot Searches}

Aug 27th 2010 4:19PM Here's what's so wierd about ALL these responses: EVERY negative responder is a democrat; EVERY positive responder is a republican. So where does the cerebration come in? It's ALL knee-jerk ideology on all sides (except this one!).
