Susan Boyle Coming to 'Dancing With The Stars' {Popeater}

Nov 8th 2009 12:46PM How is she "out of context"? She's not there to dance, she's going to sing. DWTS often has singers on to perform during a dance, and she's better than some they've had.

Wal-Mart's sick leave policy risks spreading swine flu {WalletPop}

Nov 6th 2009 6:17PM Half the time a doctor's note doesn't help anyway and besides, have you ever tried to get in to see your doctor within three days during flu season? What a joke. You can either go pay a $100 copay at an overcrowded emergency room, wasting space and waiting for 6-14 hours to see a doctor who'll sign anything to get you out of his hair, or wait three weeks for an appointment with your family GP, by which time you've gotten well on your own anyway.

The Complete Man Code to Hitting People {Asylum}

Nov 5th 2009 5:30PM Okay, weighing in here as a woman, the problem with the notion that "if she deserved it, you can hit her" is that too many men believe everyone deserves to be hit for every minor infraction. Statistically, most men are heavier, taller and have more upper body strength than most women (exceptions noted on both sides) so it's rarely a fair fight, especially if it's at the point of balled fists or kicks. That said, if a woman attacks you first, physically, I have no problem with a slap or push to get her to back off. I've never hit a man, because one has never hit me first and I answer words with words, but if I did, I would expect something in return.

Maine Voters Repeal Same-Sex Marriage Law in Close Vote {Politics Daily}

Nov 4th 2009 11:25AM "gays should be fighting for equal-to-marriage civil unions....
that's why they keep loosing these "rights"

you can't try to battle and bully the American people into what you want...

this is about equality..... so fight for civil unions that get you equal rights as marriage.

you can't take away something from males/females that's been around for thousands of years.
but you can make things equal...."

Ah, the "separate but equal" argument. We see how well that worked out with racial segregation. We ARE fighting for equality. There are roughly 2000 protections that the federal government attaches to "marriage" that do NOT apply to state-recognized "civil unions." That is hardly equal by anyone's definition. Even if all 50 states create some form of "civil union," that status still will not be the legal equal of "marriage" as defined by federal law. Until all the rights and protections of marriage are recognized in all states, and at the federal level, civil unions are not and will not be "equality."

Ian McKellen 'Proudly' Rips Leviticus 18:22 Out of All Bibles {Popeater}

Nov 2nd 2009 2:46PM Um, genius? Hitler killed gays in his camps too, as well as the mentally and physically handicapped and anyone other than what he perceived as "perfect" (by his standards) people. Put your outrage on a leash until you read up on the Holocaust and ALL its victims.

Taylor Swift Caught in Swastika Scandal {Popeater}

Oct 29th 2009 11:25PM Since when are other people's wardrobe choices her responsibility? He chose the shirt, she didn't, so howl at him for it. He looks like a thorough dweeb anyway.

Duggar Grandbaby Born {ParentDish}

Oct 9th 2009 11:28PM Ignorance? You should know. Are all children "blessings of God" or just the ones they breed themselves? Nobody said everyone had to stop having children, just have a couple then adopt more if you want more. I did adopt a child, an older one with problems, and he turned out just fine, thank you very much. I'm an adopted child myself, who can live without people like you thinking that suggesting adopting a child is "ignorance."

Duggar Grandbaby Born {ParentDish}

Oct 9th 2009 6:19PM "i bet your just not happy because they have so much love happyness an much more . they work them self an not on welfare so we should see how they do it we mite learn something good ."

Learn something good, like spelling, or grammar? Sorry, but I have to side with the folks who suggest that, while there's nothing wrong with having a large family, have a couple of your own then start adopting. There are thousands of kids, of all ages and needs, that would love to share in all that "happyness," but they're not tiny, perfect, white or carrying Duggar DNA. So, they can sit in foster care and rot while Mama Duggar keeps pumping out her little clones. I think the whole family sounds more like some brainwashed cult than anything else anyway. The kids have no childhood, not a normal one by any means; they're too busy raising the kids that mom keeps whelping. They each get minimal individual attention, they're home-schooled in an incredibly sheltered atmosphere, so they most likely have few coping skills for the outside world, and I suspect it's only a matter of time until one of them crashes and burns in spectacular fashion.

John and Elizabeth Edwards Getting Divorced? {Politics Daily}

Oct 2nd 2009 7:49PM I'm rather proud of her for not out and out killing him. I think she's shown remarkable dignity and grace under fire and deserves to kick him to the curb if she wants to.

Woman Terminates Adoption Because She Can't Bond With The Child {ParentDish}

Oct 1st 2009 6:25PM "PLAIN AND SIMPLE SHE IS A SCREW-UP, NO ONE RETURNS A BABY. I AM AN ADOPTEE, AND AM QUITE AFFENDED BY HER STUPIDITY , PERHAPES SHE WASNT EVEN FIT TO RAISE THE GIRLS SHE HAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I'm an adoptee too, and the thought of having been raised by someone like her, unable to alter her expectations and consider me as an individual, with a lifetime of being resented and treated as a second class citizen in "my own" home, never as good as the bio kids, is more horrifying than the thought of being returned and placed with someone else who would love me for me. I was blessed with adoptive parents who could not have loved me more if I had been the product of their DNA, and this boy deserves that too - not some woman who blames him for her emotional shortcomings.
