Brigitte Bardot Fights Planned Biopic: 'I'm Not Dead!' {PopEater}

Aug 13th 2010 2:48PM It most certainly IS BB--the more recent picture and the younger picture of her with dark hair. I've seen this one before, and it is undoubtedly Brigitte Bardot. She's in her 70s or something now. Ursula Andress's pictures of her do show her to be "more preserved," or she's had cosmetic procedures done. No crime. BB has not had anything done, so she looks her age. No crime, either. I like her causes and her audacity for sticking to her ideals.

Elena Kagan's Fashion Sense: Robin Givhan and the Nominee's Legs {Politics Daily}

May 26th 2010 12:02AM Ohhhh, that Robin Givhan is such a stunning role model, herself... NOT! She may be slim, but she certainly doesn't look "buff," and she's a very OLD 45. Get a life, you sorry buzzard. Move into this century, too, like cognitogrrl points out. I'd like to add reverse racism to that list of critiques about Robin's slant and comments regarding Elena Kagan. Jealousy, as well. So there.

Airline Fees on the Rise: What You Need to Know {AOL Travel News}

May 15th 2010 10:46PM The listing is lagging a little, with the recent merger of United and Continental. So what will those fees be, combined between the two airlines?

Southwest is nicest for not charging the extra fees (except for the optional early-boarding privilege of $10 each way, which they don't seem to let passengers buy for only one leg of the trip--cost me $20 RT). Unfortunately, they dump less-than-completely-full flights and passengers have to scramble to different gates miles away in large terminals, claiming that the change is due to mechanical problems. I've never had that happen on American or the former United.

But is it a gas? Better Marriage Blanket claims to dash bad bedroom odors {WalletPop}

May 3rd 2010 9:13PM I keep thinking that the best thing to do with "natural gas" is to use a rubber hose and containers to harness it and recycle it as green energy. (In the daytime, just the hose might help propel a vehicle if there's enough gas. How about a likened version of a "Smart Car?" The hose's OTHER end exits from the body, like the exhaust pipe.)

Brits Want to Hit the Panic Button Over Facebook {ParentDish}

Apr 15th 2010 10:36AM "You'd get links to at least 10 sites offering advice on how to do if you're faced with a bully or sexual predator."

Where did Tom Henderson learn English? [A]dvice on what to do is the correct usage. What is the pronoun, in this instant. How is an adverb--how to do what? Advice on how to respond is correct. Error from deadline crunch, or lack of grammatical awareness? That is the question. Another poor Facebook and Internet influence in general--degraded literacy among younger generations, overall. Hit the panic button!

The Gender Pay Gap--New Opportunities for Women {AOL Jobs}

Apr 1st 2010 3:54PM Yes, we know all about sexual differentiation and Lyonization after fertilization, and gestation. Female is the default. The Y-chromosome is a biological afterthought. Its resulting by-products are mostly anomalies, if not in the genetic sense, considering the overwhelming incidence of sex-linked defects, certainly in the predominant social sense. The more Ys, as in XYY males (mostly in prison), the worse the destruction.

The Gender Pay Gap--New Opportunities for Women {AOL Jobs}

Apr 1st 2010 3:39PM Now you know. Believe that they'd dump you in an instant, too, if it ever got down to a choice between the two of you. You didn't even get paid to train him, did you? They charge hundreds of dollars for legal-proofreading courses, and most worthy law firms won't even consider hiring anyone without experience or formal training, be it proofreader, paralegal, or what have you. If you had not trained him properly, they never would have known. If his work was so poor it got him called on the carpet, it would have been his word against yours. This sounds like his hiring was from a personal favor.

The Gender Pay Gap--New Opportunities for Women {AOL Jobs}

Apr 1st 2010 3:33PM Not drunken men... You can smell it on their pants for days. And if women just learn the right angle for their legs, then there's no contest there, either. Saves a long wait and hassle at overcrowded women's bathrooms. The Japanese had a good solution--a benjyo, which both men or women straddle.

The Gender Pay Gap--New Opportunities for Women {AOL Jobs}

Apr 1st 2010 3:28PM The "I" versus "we" use by women is more a matter of nonacceptance by men (or other women) when it is used by women. One of the tactics of getting unwilling subordinates and the like to cooperate is the use of the plural pronoun to emulate the atmosphere of teamwork. Men (and other unenlightened women) won't take "I" declarations from women, whether they use it to declare accomplishments or give directions (orders are never accepted from women willingly).

The Gender Pay Gap--New Opportunities for Women {AOL Jobs}

Apr 1st 2010 3:18PM First of all, female is the default gender biologically. The Y chromosome is an afterthought; almost an anomaly. Second, there are plenty women who can and do outproduce men in many areas. Look at how vehemently even most stronger men attempt to crush these women in every respect. Equality is a threat to brainwashed men and boneheaded men. Differentiating among them is very often the hardest task. Those brainwashed can be helped, however. The die-hard boneheads cannot. They need their fables. Hungry dogs need bones. Boneheads suffice...
