Jun 3rd 2011 1:56AM What is all the hullabaloo about i.,e., the kids should get an A-plus. In these two wars we're in where thousands of our young people have died, I put the blame on Cheney who I think controlled Bush. Cheney's old company Haliburton received billion-dollar deals with no bidding some of which are currently under investigation for their actions. Bush initiated the tax breaks for the rich (read Cheney) and now look at our current financial condition. The U.S. is not listed among the top manufacturing countries. This all started way before Obama Took office. The war profiteers (read speculaters) are in control. Eisenhower warned of the military-industrial complex and now we can see where they 've brought us to. In doubt? Go look it up friends. Maybe we should learn from those kids and their yearbook.

Feb 21st 2011 5:03AM We knew this was coming over 40 years when it was announced we were to become a service industry country. I thought at the time, that this was nonsense, guess what? Naftra or more better, Graftra. I will vote for the person who wants to bring back our jobs, i.e., you can't create enough jobs that we lost. Also, years ago I didn't believe we were heading for a one-world economy, as we thought this warning was wild-eyed extremist, but guess what. But don't give up and Fight the Good Fight.

Feb 15th 2011 4:28AM I got BP in my late 50's. The Dr gave me a limited amt of steroids, I got over the worst part, but was left with a less than perfect smile and numbness around my mouth. The Dr said they don't know the cause, nor how to treat it effectively. younsters completely recover. I also got "Black Tongue" or Hairy Tongue which went away shortly. I also tear up in left eye when I eat. The medical pros must feel there isn't enought money in trying to research BP. The number of those effected by BP must surely be in the millions. Ask around and most will say, yes, I know someone who had it. Take note of the treatments mention here.

Feb 15th 2011 3:40AM Whoopi has her own very unique style of acting and the roles she's been in, seems to have been written just for her, e.g., "Burglar," Those who are critical of her obviously haven't seen her films. She has every right to be miffed about her exclusion. But then had the errant writer omitted Hattie McDanial from this list, that would have been movie blasphemy. I'm appalled at what does get an Oscar these days. P.S. Please don't critique my writing.

Dec 31st 2010 6:37AM That's all cute, but what does all this cost vs the returns to USPO, which is already over one billion in the RED. All I want to have (occasionally) is a simple and cheap stamp. USPO (ref: a documentary on PBS) hires a staff of full time artists and what with the full-color and high priced lithography, please tell me they aren't printed in China. I wonder if Disney is giving free licensing. Not. Oh, I forgot, the government will just print more dollars.

Nov 29th 2010 4:18AM I'm retired but must still work parttime, but doing my working days, I remember there always was those that brought lunches. I'll bet those ones are well set for retirement. Now, I don't think its possible to create enough jobs to replace the ones we lost. We're not even on the list of countries that are to be our next leading manufacturers. Stop blaming all of this on Obama. Some forty years ago, it was said we will become a service-industry country; read: we will lose our mighty industrial might. Some say it was economist Milton Friedman that started this free trade idea. But our demise and failures needs to be laid at someone's feet. Then we can start rebuilding our economy.
