A Message From the AOL.com Team {Portalblog}
Dec 21st 2012 9:56AM I understand that folks who are not familiar with guns can jump on the "ban the guns" wagon. But that demonstrates shallow thinking on their part. Firearms are nothing more than chunks of wood, plastic and metal. They, like automobiles, require a person to operate them. Unfortunately, that may include the mentally ill, just as there are nut-jobs are on the highways. Gun banners are barking up the wrong tree when they say we need to limit or ban guns. Remember, the Columbine shooting happened in the middle of the last "assault rifle" law. It did nothing to stop, or even slow it down. Failure. And the reason it failed, is because GUNS ARE NOT THE PROBLEM. Mentally ill people ARE! So until this country addresses the mental health disaster in this country, nothing is going to change. It used to be that mentally ill people could get help in institutions. But the ACLU and other know-it-alls caused the institutions to be closed, and the residents thrown out onto the street. Today it is much more difficult for mentally ill, to be institutionalized. This was the apparent problem this time around. We need to get these people help. Police are often forced to kill these people on the street. And they are killing us! We also need trained, armed teachers in school, as the police can't be everywhere.
A TSA Agent Answers Questions From The Community {Gadling}
Nov 25th 2012 10:36AM These TSA folks seem to be regularly referred to as "Officers", when in fact, they have no federal law enforcement training. They are not officers; they are agents, and while they have a job to do, they have no law enforcement authority. The writer did include that term at one point, but mostly used the term "officers".
BTW, I'm done flying commercial until some common sense screening shows up. I refuse to be irradiated or groped.

Will the War in Iraq Ever Go Away? {Politics Daily}
Mar 8th 2010 7:21AM It will be a war as long as you liberals want to keep calling it one. Simple as that. And I suspect that will be for a very long time, at least as long as you can keep sensationalizing it. Internal strife, yes. War, no.
'Deadliest Catch' Star Arrested Days After Dad's Death {PopEater}
Feb 20th 2010 1:43PM I can understand him getting snockered and screwing up, after losing his dad. That doesn't make it right though. Captn' Phill would kick his ass!
Captain Phil Harris Was the Genuine Article {PopEater}
Feb 19th 2010 9:03AM Perhaps one of the reasons we loved Captain Phil, was that he was a real man doing a real job. Nothing phony like the junk Hollywood foists on us. In spite of the rough edges, you could see the heart of gold. As a man of the sea, it is fitting that his ashes be returned to the sea.
'Deadliest Catch' Captain Suffers Stroke {PopEater}
Feb 2nd 2010 9:14AM Phil & fam seem like the kind of folks you can't help but like. But Deadliest Catch crew seems to share the Deadliest Addiction: smoking! Best of luck to them--hope Phil recovers fully, and I hope they rid themselves of the scourge before it has even more serious consequences .
Antiwar Activists Reawaken as Obama Weighs Afghanistan Strategy {Politics Daily}
Oct 31st 2009 11:45AM There's only one way to peace with people that want to kill you. Superior firepower. Kill them first. The boneheads that are saying crap like "Drones Kill Civilians" prove how ignorant they are. ALL the terrorists ARE CIVILIANS! We are NOT fighting regular soldiers!
When a rebate isn't a rebate -- it's a ripoff {WalletPop}
Sep 29th 2009 4:26PM I've recieved and used these with no problem, but when I have to bow to the rebate Gods, I'd really prefer cash. But I absolutely HATE rebates to begin with, and try dilligently to avoid products that offer them. In the case of cell phone companies, that's hard to do. Bottom line is: REBATES ARE A PAIN IN THE ASS!
