Mar 31st 2011 8:09PM It was Friday night and my fiancee and I were working on our laptops in bed before calling it a night. I was starting to doze off so she decided it was time to call it a night. She saved her work, closed her MacBook and passed it to me to put on the ground. Unfortunately, being half awake I took the laptop and flung it across the room (I guess that's the partially conscious equivalent to gently placing the laptop on the ground). The MacBook skipped twice before coming to a rest across the bedroom. Now wide awake, I quickly grabbed the laptop and booted it up... everything seemed fine so we went to sleep. The next day the laptop would not boot up at all... Turns out throwing a MacBook across a room is a surefire way to kill the hard drive. Without an active backup (non-geeks just don't get it), all my fiance's stuff was lost, including the phd thesis she had been working on at the time. She thought all was lost and was quite distraught. Luckily, I remembered that she had a habit of emailing her thesis to herself in order to work on it at the school computer lab. Sure enough, there was a recent copy of her thesis and she only actually lost the work she had done that night. Phew. Needless to say she now understands the importance of backing up one's work!

Oct 2nd 2010 1:14PM I would charge both my iPhone 4 and my fiancee's iPhone 3GS whilest also using it as an alarm clock by our bed. A definite welcome addition to our new apartment which is almost completely lacking in furniture and appliances. YAY!

Oct 21st 2009 3:37AM The router itself may be small... but it appears to have an external power brick of some sort... I bet if you combined the size of the router and the power supply it would be bigger than the Airport Express... Not very advantageous for travellers...
