Google Maps Heads To The Arctic {Gadling}

Sep 1st 2012 4:30PM I find street view an amazing tool for reconnoitering a place soon to be visited. When I am looking for a hotel in a strange city, I usually check it out on street view to see how it really looks from the outside and to check out the surroundings. It also helps me locate the entrance to a large building and to find nearby parking.
I was living in Europe in 2009 and researching the purchase of an apartment in South Beach, I used street view to view the exterior of properties available and to evaluate the quality and style of the neighborhoods. When I arrived in Miami Beach to seriously look for the apartment with the realtor, I felt like I already knew the town and districts, and so hit the ground running.

Mar 26th 2011 9:31PM I have never been able to figure out why she is so famous....why is everyone so interested in her? She really doesn't seem that hot to me nor is she particularly talented or clever....who can explain all this interest in her petty life to me?

The Da Vinci, um, Dress Code {Gadling}

Aug 14th 2006 10:51PM I have traveled a lot and so I can vouch for what Erik is saying. Americans aren't the only slobs in the world. The Dutch for one are sloppy dressers in general - I speak from living there for eight years. But they are slobby in a Dutch way, not the USA way. But in the manners department Americans rate right down there at the bottom. When I see a bunch of brazen, whining, gum-smacking loud-mouthed Americans coming I make a quick dodge down a side street to avoid being associated with them. But I try to make up for American behavior in general, by by being polite, sensitive to local customs and a fairly spiffy dresser . The trouble is, then people don't think I am American.
