Determining civil and criminal liability for the lost iPhone {TUAW.com}

Apr 24th 2010 8:01PM The nature of Apple's products have never necessitated a direct, apparent leak from the company. By that, I mean that Apple has never created a leak of a forthcoming product that could be traced back directly to Apple itself. Leaks would always be blurry cam pictures or the like that always come from "trusted sources", but Apple, being the company that it is, would never dream of creating leaks that would lead back to them.

If you look at it by this logic, then the iPhone 4G/HD leak was never intentional on Apple's part. This, coupled with the fact that there is now a criminal investigation, means that the circumstances of the leak are genuine.

On the topic of legality of what Gizmodo did, I do think Gizmodo was criminally negligent in their actions. The law is the law and even Apple wouldn't be able to stop a criminal charge. Civilly, this could be considered a boon for Apple for obvious reasons but it could also mean lost revenue because people thinking of purchasing an iPhone 3GS prior to the iPhone 4G/HD's release would now be waiting.

New RIM ad shows deep appreciation for U2, Apple's ad team {Engadget}

Jul 10th 2009 3:59AM your statement asking whether "U2 is even relevant anymore" basically says more about you than it does about U2.

New RIM ad shows deep appreciation for U2, Apple's ad team {Engadget}

Jul 10th 2009 3:56AM to be honest i think the bigger issue here is the fact that U2, a perennial apple favourite, is appearing in an ad for the competition. that said, apple pulled it off much better than BB. besides, at least apple was advertising the prerelease of Coldplay's album. What about BB?
