Dec 12th 2012 5:54AM Happy birthday to my wife. I thank my mother in law on a regular basis for bringing her in on 12/12. If you can remember either the day or the month, ya got the other one. The year, too this year
Nov 26th 2012 5:32AM Sounds like a great spot for all those ding dongs that want to secede.
Apr 9th 2010 12:40PM it seems unfair to blame one guy. greenspan had all the others on the board. most decisions were consensus with little opposition from the others. answer this question. what would have been the reaction if the fed had jacked up the discount rate to 6 or 8% in 2005 or 2006
which would have strangled the housing market? he would have been run out of town on a rail.
Mar 3rd 2010 9:49AM this article states most of it clearly as far as residential real estate goes. the problems, and fallout with commercial real estate
are likely to dwarf the residential problems. try to find that article regarding the 4 ugly letters (repo). not the usual interpretation of the acroynym. basically stands for interbank repurchase agreements related to collateralized day trading in primarily money market funds and rolling loans. that system is frozen. key word collateral especially in commercial real estate,
but for all types of biz that have shorter term financing.
business's of all types cannot roll their expiring loans. like a regular mortgage in some ways but very different in others. a
traditional mortgage is fixed payment and term for say 30 years.
these business loans are usually 3-5 years. many are maturing,
and even more coming balance of this year and next.
