Steins, New Mexico: The Ultimate American Ghost Town {Gadling}

Aug 2nd 2012 8:57AM I traveled through Provo, South Dakota, this summer. It is still on the map, but is essentially a "ghost town." I saw two small trailers that looked inhabited, but I saw no one. It was the site of an ordnance depot during WW2, which was closed down in 1947 I believe, and it reason for existence slowly faded away.

Provo is in the southwest corner of SD, just south of Edgmont about 10 miles off of US Highway 18. It could prove to be an interesting side-trip for anyone passing through the area. If you are in the Black Hills/Badlands area, check it out.

Another interesting town is Scenic, SD, just outside of the Badlands. It does have a post office and a trading post, but not much else. Stop in the trading post and ask about the abandoned jail; it has an interesting story.

Brett Favre's Return Gives Packers Something to Worry About {Fanhouse NFL Blog}

Aug 18th 2010 12:21PM I am amazed that people are so concerned that Brett enjoy "his" retirement with his family. I wish everyone could enjoy their retirement with their families. I would suspect that if his family was insistent that he retire, he would retire.

Price for Passport Going Up {AOL Travel News}

Jul 1st 2010 3:20PM There used to be no charge for traveling to Canada and Mexico until the Federal Government rathole decided it needed more money to bribe the taxpayer with.

Vince Young Apologizes to Fans, Teammates for Strip Club 'Mistake' {Fanhouse NFL Blog}

Jun 14th 2010 7:25PM Sure Vince. Blame it on a "friend." Ya coulda said "No," ya know? Another overpaid, underworked Professional athlete Doofus.

Canadians Forced to Apologize for Celebrating {Fanhouse Olympics Blog}

Feb 26th 2010 12:44PM So, does this "apology" mean that if no one was offended, everything is ok, and the "apology" is retracted. Another instance of a "non-apology apology." What a bunch of phonies.

Dante Wesley Hit on Clifton Smith Yields 1-Game Suspension {Fanhouse NFL Blog}

Oct 20th 2009 9:55AM WOW! A WHOLE ONE GAME SUSPENSION. I SEE THOSE TOUGH GUYS AT THE NFL OFFICE ARE REALLY SERIOUS ABOUT PROTECTING PLAYERS AND ELIMINATING "UNNECESSARY" VIOLENCE FROM THEIR GAME.

I THINK RAY ANDERSON SHOULD BE SUSPENDED FOR A MONTH WITHOUT PAY FOR FLAGRANT VIOLATION OF THE RULES OF COMMON SENSE.

$3,000 gift card could have put the economy back on track {Daily Finance}

Aug 19th 2009 6:28PM WHY DO YOU SAY, "GIVEN THE NEED TO PASS UNIVERASAL HEALTH CARE COVERAGE THIS FALL . . . " YOU MAKE IT SOUND AS IF THERE SHOULD BE NO DISCUSSION ON THIS TOPIC, WHEREAS THERE DEFINITELY DOES NEED TO BE DISCUSSION WHETHER THIS IS NEEDED OR NOT.

AS FAR AS YOUR SUGGESTION FOR THE $3,OOO "GIFT CARD," HAVE YOU FIGURED OUT HOW MUCH THIS WILL INCREASE THE FEDERAL DEFICIT? IT SOUNDS AS IF YOU ARE SUGGESTING WE ROB PETER TO PAY PAUL? SOLVE THE DEBT PROBLEM BY INCREASING THE DEBT PROBLEM? YOU, ALONG WITH THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION, MUST THINK THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE STUPID.

Adrian Peterson Wants 2,000 Rushing Yards, NFL MVP in 2009 {Fanhouse NFL Blog}

Aug 1st 2009 10:16AM Actually, Peterson's nickname is A.D., as in "All Day." That is the name his mother gave him when he was a youngster because he just kept running "all day." "All Day" Peterson. Just a little trivia there.

Now, about the 2,000 yards. I just hope he hasn't jinxed himself.

Lesnar's Antics Reflect Poorly on Sport {Fanhouse - Kevin Blackistone}

Jul 14th 2009 2:56PM Why do you call this a sport? This is an activity populated with louts, like Lesnar, who behave like animals. The UFC is a travesty. It is barbaric.

President Obama Attacks FOX News {Politics Daily}

Jun 18th 2009 8:25PM So King Hussein Obamamessiah has only ONE TV station critical of him? Seems to me President George W. Bush hadeEvery TV station but Fox criticizing him, and he wasn't whining about that situation. Seems our present Dictator in Washington D.C. can't stand the heat. Remember what President Truman, a real man, not a crybaby like the Great Apologizer, said about the heat? "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen." Hey, you Chicago politician, step aside and let someone else do the job!
