Mother Knows Best: Beauty Lessons From the Women in Our Lives {Stylelist}

May 8th 2011 10:14AM I forgot one more thing she told me:
NEVER pluck your eyebrows from the top down, only from the bottom up. Otherside, you'll look like an angry gorilla.

Mother Knows Best: Beauty Lessons From the Women in Our Lives {Stylelist}

May 8th 2011 10:12AM My mother gave me several pieces of advice:
1. Good bras, good shoes, good makeup.
2. Don't buy clothes at the cheap stores - otherwise you'll just see yourself coming and going.
Thank you Mom and and I love and miss you so much!

Spirit Cancels Flights, Leaves Passengers Stranded {AOL Travel News}

Jun 14th 2010 5:19PM I am a teacher and have been on a pay freeze for two years. So yes, I know about pay cuts, staff cuts, and salary freezes. I teach in a private school at 30% less than the teachers across the street from me in the public schools get. I don't begrudge that - it's a choice I make but I sympathize with the pilots.

Spirit Cancels Flights, Leaves Passengers Stranded {AOL Travel News}

Jun 14th 2010 3:28PM Just for the fun of it, I looked up my last flights on Spirit (Jan 10, 2/23, 4/15, 5/10, and 6/7. The cheapest fare I got was on 2/23 and I paid (after my add on for the seat) $213. Now, I don't claim to be a mathematician but I can't believe for one minute that your fares were greater than 50% less than competitors, I don't care what kind of math you do. That simply does not ring true unless you are only paying the taxes and getting a booster ride.

Spirit Cancels Flights, Leaves Passengers Stranded {AOL Travel News}

Jun 14th 2010 3:04PM To "Folks..." no- it's not the pilots - it's definitely the executives at Spirit who claim to offer no frills-discount fares when in reality, the only thing getting "discounted" there are the paying passengers. I've flown this airline many, many times and endured their lack of customer assistance and care because they had flights at times I wanted to leave. After this last fiasco and because I'm still waiting for a credit for a cancelled flight FROM THREE YEARS AGO, this is the end for me. I'll take any other airline, even if it means flying out of Midway on SWA or taking a one stop on another line before I'll ever step on a Spirit flight again. And my current credit plus the vouchers - well, I'm not holding my breath on that one either. This airline is the worst!!

Spirit Cancels Flights, Leaves Passengers Stranded {AOL Travel News}

Jun 14th 2010 2:28PM Just got home last night (Sunday) from Ft. Lauderdale. I was one of the thousands of Spirit Airlines casualties. When I heard about the possible strike (Friday), I immediately started calling other airlines. Only SWA would allow me to hold two tickets and not purchase them outright until I knew for sure I would need them. Well, I did. I lost a day of vacation, it cost me and additional $800 to get home AND I had to fly into Midway instead of Ohare where my car was parked but this is for sure. SPIRIT - OUT!!! My new airline BFF is definitely the customer friendly, very accommodating Southwest Airlines. AND, they don't charge for beverages like Spirit.

Michelle Obama Style - The First Lady Wears Thakoon Dress for G20 Summit's Opening Dinner {Stylelist}

Sep 27th 2009 8:47AM When MO wears tailored, monochoamatic ensembles where a small, well placed piece of jewelry is the accessory, she is absolutely beautiful. The small sweaters are for the most part, not flattering and not appropriate for formal occasions. Some of the suits I saw were breathtaking (gold, red). And believe me, if I had arms like that, I'd be showing them off as well. Lose the flowerd dresses - they remind me of house dresses my mother used to wear just during the day while she cleaned her house and ironed. These "frocks" as the press keeps calling them are not flattering. Little girls wear frocks, women wear dresses.
Lastly, I think Michelle should smile more - she's so engaging and soft looking when she smiles. I love her - think she's fantastic.
