Jun 21st 2009 1:21PM tjanddenny>>"So rant and rave all you want on these blogs, because none of it matters a whit to the rest of us. Whiners."

Neither does yours...
While I am certain there are plenty of racist Republicans, just as there are Democrats, please don't pile us all together. That is not a one size fits all matter.

Pundit>>"Meanwhile the reprehensible racist replicon loons bait & switch with their lame attempts at reviving last years dead baby. where were your protests at the unanimous w cheney ineptitude via untargeted 102% spending increases, 70% of it non defense, leaving the US with record low everything including just 1.9M jobs created in just 8 years vs. the 22.7M created 8 years earlier.
Stop insisting on tax cuts benefiting 95% of you and watch the deficit shrink, hypocrites."

I have read quite a few of your posts and anyone who throws around as many percentages and other forms of numerical data as you, usually has little to actually say. You didn't make those numbers up, you probably did see them somewhere, but it is all just hoo-ha. You (anyone) can apply and manipulate numbers to your heart's content to make it look however you want it to look, so save them for someone you think you need to impress. I can't speak for anyone else on here, but you don't impress me at all. And before you lamblast me, which I fully expect, you can save that effort as well, because people like you are usually nothing but hot air, and that generally cools off quickly and is no longer distinguishable from the rest.

Marji>>Your little analogy is spot on. Rather than throwing nothing but numbers and insults around, that is exactly how we should be analyzing the situation...with some common sense thinking.

Racism...out the door; birth certificate...out the door; those things are such an insignificant part of what is really going on that they do not really matter in the least. What the current powers that be are doing to our country is what really matters. Wake up and smell the coffee, people! It doesn't matter what color O. is (Which he really isn't black, any more that he is really white...somewhere in between. His mama and grandparents who raised him all of his life were white as I am; he just chooses not to dwell on that very much.) At this point in time, whether he has a legitimate BC doesn't really matter, he is there, in office. There will now be no easy remedies to the mess we are in, but it seems to me that O. is going at it with a backhoe and the full support of some very misguided, power-hungry colleagues.
This has all ceased to be anything about FOX News. They do not have all the answers any more than the others do; I trust ANY of them who have the kohonies (sp?) to tell it like it really is. You just have to pick and choose among them all. They are not all gathered in one place!

Jun 21st 2009 12:37AM If you are a teacher, I would like to know how you ever passed all the exams. WHEW---I think you are one of the teachers that need to be replaced.

Lacy Lady...on what do you base this comment? Why do you think I need to be replaced? This should be an interesting justification. Most assuredly I am a teacher, and I passed every exam I had to take with flying colors. Plus, I am one who actually still enjoys going to work every day in spite of the disrespect, apathy, threats, etc. that come from some kids. I still love them, and I give it my all, every day that I work. I am in the process of completing my 6-year, Education Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction in order to be as diversified and highly qualified as possible, so...go blow your hot air in someone else's direction. You, Lacy Lady, are clueless.

President Obama Attacks FOX News {Politics Daily}

Jun 20th 2009 10:22PM You know...forget FOX...Look around for yourself! Open your eyes and see what is taking shape all around. The health care system is only going to be the beginning of government takeover. I even heard a Brit on one of the morning shows say that if America allowed government run health care into this country like they have, it will be a huge mistake! This from someone whose country has experienced this for years.
I teach school and I teach a large number of African American kids, many of whom I think the world of and will remember always once they are away from me. I am not a sheep; I will listen, when there is someone or something who has something productive to say. I was not terribly thrilled with any of our candidates during the last election, but Obama was the "worst of all evils" as far as I was concerned. He lacks so many of the fundamental qualifications that a Commander-in-Chief should possess that it is frightening. He came out of practically nowhere. He has never led so much as a city or state, let alone a country. And...I'm sorry, but just by pure human nature, I do not believe ANYONE could sit under the tutalage of an individual like the Rev. Wright and not ascribe to at least some of the doctrine. Some of his garbage is too much...any is too much. In my eyes, he does a tremendous disservice to the African American population by spewing his hatred and isolationist propaganda. He does nothing to further positive relations between the two races (black and white). He sets it back many, many years.
It bothered be greatly that so many of his cabinet could not be filled because the people he was choosing for the positions were dishonest. It bothered me that the first televised interview he granted after taking office was on a Muslim TV station. It bothers me that he tells the world that America is not a Christian nation, basically he said it was a nothing nation when it comes to religion. I beg to differ; this country was (like it or not) founded on religious, Christian principles. It bothers me that he takes his wife out to dinner via an airplane flight, Broadway show, etc. and does it on my dime. I am all for date nights; just take it out of your own pocket. Oh I forgot, he thinks my (and your)pockets are his! It bothers me that he is rendered virtually incapable of answering a question or even speaking without it being scripted. Ever listened to all of the stuttering and stammering he does when he is answering impromptu? I could probably continue to think of things that have transpired over the last 6 months and before that stand to hurt our country, but I guess at this point, it doesn't matter, does it. He is in there, he is getting his way (misguided as it is), and it pains me to think of the world the kids that I teach, my children and grandchildren are destined to live in and the circumstances under which they will have to function (financially). I don't care if it is Rep. or Dem..., we needed someone else besides this newbie. I hold on to hope for 2012.
Remember, none of this has a thing to do with FOX News.
Now, just because I said I am a teacher, please do not crucify me if a typo slipped past me.

Jun 19th 2009 6:33PM Let me try this again...maybe my post will make it this time.
I doubt that O will launch anything at anyone (NK) because is and has been far too busy trying to get everyone (countries) to hold hands and sing "Kumbayah". You see, you can't be friends with folks when you are trying to fight them!
Seriously, I am 53 years old and I cannot recall ever being as scared for our country, its safety and security, and survivability. We have sunk so far into this current quagmire, can we free ourselves? O. has been so busy blaming the 'previous administration for the financial crisis' our country is in, can't he see that he has only compounded that crisis exponentially? No, Bush was by no means perfect and I do not expect any man to be so, but come on...it has to get better than this! This man came out of utter obscurity, no significant leadership experience, can't speak without reading what he is saying (ah-uh-umm-ah...) and carries himself as though he is to be worshipped or idolized. Words to a song..."How do you like me now...now that I'm on my way?" I think there will be many who did like what they thought they saw, but are now seeing something totally different,'now that he is on his way'!
I love to watch and listen to FOX News. It is the only news channel whose people do not have suspiciously "dark" noses from kissing O's *ss!

And no, I mean absolutely NO reference to the color of O's skin, before I am accused of a racist remark.

Design of New U.S. Passport {Gadling}

Apr 20th 2007 8:40PM I have to agree with those posters who commented on safety abroad. I am very proud to be an American and I love our country, however, when I am somewhere outside our borders, I would prefer not to brandish an alert to all who are within eye shot, some of whom may indeed not be fans of America. It is not a pleasant thought, but we have made enemies in various places around the world. I guess it is silly, but a movie I once saw about hijackers who took up passports looking for Jewish passengers comes to mind. It wasn't for anything remotely good either. Ummm...torture, murder, etc. all because of their nationality and heritage. As melodramatic as it sounds, I can easily see something like that happening. I think I prefer the simple black with gold lettering. At least that way, it is not like holding out a poster proclaiming citizenship. I prefer to vacation without such drama.

'Body sox' used for restraint against Florida 4-year-olds {ParentDish}

Dec 17th 2006 12:20PM Mummie/E...What we need to do, is give the teachers and schools back more authority to EJECT, REJECT, and PROSECUTE where applicable. This garbage of 'everyone is entitled to an education' is bull dung! You are entitled, IF you are actually there to educate yourself. NOT if you are there to disrupt the learning environment and keep others from pursuing their wish to educate. I would have EVERY person involved in the school-teachers, administrators, students, EVERYONE-file a suit for breach of civil liberties. By FORCING others to 'put up with' these unruly children...everyone loses their right to an education!

You are right on! I am a teacher and we are forced to try and "educate" children who no more have an interest or inclination to learn than they have to be a teacher themselves. Consequently, they act out, disrupt, and some are even dangers to classmates. I do believe that there should be a point at which a student loses their right to a free appropriate public education. Where does one student's right end and the rest of the students' rights begin? If one (or more) students in a class are disrupting and there is precious little to be done with them (especially if they are in special education) and they are impeding the education of some of your children, what is the answer? This is an issue that we as teachers struggle with daily and I know that if I were the parent of one of the children in some of our classrooms, I would be mad as hell at the circumstances under which my child is being forced to do his/her best to learn. In our defense, more often than not, it is not the fault of the teacher, at least not completely. It is not necessarily a classroom management issue, but as one poster said earlier, the parents of these kids do not want the school to bother them with the problem but at the same time the school's hands are tied for fear of being sued by parents who want nothing done to their kids.
So...I could go on and on, but I won't. I agree with Mummie/E and her post. I cannot see where the body sock would be beneficial on an already upset kid. Those I know of and have been speaking of would likely really go ballistic if you even tried to put them in one, and you probably would not be successful in doing so. Thankfully, I have not heard of these things where I live and hopefully I won't. I can really hear the parents on that one! I fear for our education systems if the seat of power is not relocated. The kids and the parents have all the power at this time and to be honest, the schools and the school boards and systems are scared to death of them and what they might attempt to do, could do, and the grief they could cause them legally. The schools have to be back in the driver's seat and be able to do what we know how to do best and that is teach and try to direct and educate young people toward the future of their dreams, not just barely get by or in some cases be pushed through.
Thanks for listening (reading)

The Pink Palace, Estate of the Day {Luxist}

Aug 13th 2006 12:24PM My first comment is to Mr. Albers who criticized Ms. Arnes choice of words. You could used some brushing up on your use and mechanics of the English language as well, my friend. The word English is always capitalized. Anything or anyone can, and sometimes does, look more gorgeous or as gorgeous in person than in a photograph, with you being the in person part and not the house. I doubt it is called "the Port Royal", but is likely referred to as the Port Royal area or just Port Royal. Finally, when you begin a letter or in this case a blog entry and you choose to begin with "Dear Whoever", your greeting goes first, hit return, then the first word of your beginning sentence should be capitalized. Please use spellcheck and grammar check or at the very least proofread before you push send.
As for the many comments about the cost, whether it is wasteful, cold, and sterile, anyone who has that kind of money should be able to spend it any way they like and without criticizm from those of us who are have-nots. Yes, I am envious, but it is just because I am an underpaid school teacher and I am jealous that it doesn't belong to me. If I had 24-25 million to spend on a house, you better believe that it would be on that grand of a scale.
Who are any of us that we should judge the owners of this home? It is a beautiful home, in a great location, and I am sure they can probably afford the insurance.
