Grimy 'Lemonade' - What Can I Get You Folks? {Slashfood}

Apr 27th 2010 6:13AM I usually squeeze a lemon in my water because a lot of places have water that does not taste real good by itself. I would not add sugar because that is the reason I asked for water in the first place. I filter my water at home so I dont need lemon and it is my preferred drink at home as well. A restaurant doesnt filter water because they want to encourage you to buy a coke or tea because these are more profitable than what they make off the food. Servers like it because it raises their tip. I always leave 15-25% tip depending on service and I find it insulting that asking for water with lemon is a sign of a bad tipper to some waiters and waitresses. This article most been writen by a part time waiter. If I go to a restaurant I should never eat anything that isnt cooked? If these articles are right about what goes on before we get salads the health department should make them take salads off the menu and I would stay home because they are my favorite part of the meal.

GM bankruptcy looks more likely {Daily Finance}

Apr 7th 2009 11:03PM I'm one of those GM retirees, when I go to the doctor I have to pay 100% of the office call. My health care insurance is good if I go into the hospital so I do need it. That is part of that hourly cost they demonize the union for, actually there is 1 worker supporting the health insurance of 5 retirees. I started making $2.36 an hour and was up to $18.00 an hour when I retired. I worked an average of 56 hours a week at GM and had a second job so I could save to retire early and return to the south. I had to go to college and serve an apprenticeship to get the skills required to be a Tool & Die Maker. Since I retired I have got less than promised, I pay a monthly premium for my health insurance, I have deductions and co pays and now in order to save the company my union has let the company have 32 billion dollars that was put away in what I thought was a untouchable vested retirement plan (about 30 % of our retirement fund). I will get $1200 a month for the rest of my life but most goverment workers, teachers, police will get more than that because I have to pay taxes. They dont have to buy American cars but those good paying jobs once gone will eventually cause everyone to continue to lose right along with the half million GM retirees that continue to give to save our old company. Once bankrupt the government will have to take care of the health care for us retirees and that will cost more than what they have done to help keep the company going. What gripes me is retirees have given twice what the tax payers have to save GM and everyone thinks we have it made and our union is the cause for their troubles. I have bought GM cars my whole life and have not had a bad one yet. I hate to have to think of buying a car assembled here and all the profits sent over seas. One thing you can count on, some day you will be in the same boat as our standard of living continues to go down as the rest of the world goes up. I have always bought everything I could from an American Company with American workers, this helps the economy here. If you think anyone in the UAW makes over $45 an hour with benefits I have some ocean front property in Arizona I want to sale you. Remenber your job and your health benefits will be next and our children will have to live on what the rest of the world wants to give us as all the good jobs are sent over seas where they can live on $2 an hour. I'm thankful I spent my 4 years in the Marine Corps so that I can have the VA take care of my health care since GM will take away the little health care they co-pay for me now. The two years in Vietnam were hell but nothing like seeing Americans turn on Americans and wishing them hard times. I will pray that you learn the truth and not fall for the propaganda put out by big business and those under paid CEO's.

Houston Coach Thinks ESPN Doctored Budinger Head-Smashing Video {Fanhouse NCAA Basketball Blog}

Jan 29th 2009 9:46AM I do not believe a news program would edit a clip like that, what would be their motivation? I on the other hand with photoshop and no formal training can edit the picture to make this player appear to look straight ahead and the person with the picture does have motivation. It was clear live that he did do it on purpose to a lot of fans and seeing it live it could not be doctored

GM to dump Pontiac {BloggingStocks}

Nov 27th 2008 12:34PM Toyota has all its benefits paid by the goverment, this is not a level playing field. We spend 50% on defense and Japan spends that on making their auto companies able to turn a profit while under pricing the american auto companies. I believe american cars are better than the foreign ones in the same classes. What I see is americans that think someone else makes more than they do and want to punish them by buying foreign. Beware one day it will be your job and their will be no one left to help you.

Belichick Should Have Stayed on the Field {Fanhouse NFL Blog}

Feb 4th 2008 8:18AM When there is so much money on a game you see suspicious things happen. Then again maybe the offensive line felt slighted and wanted to show Tom he couldn't do it without them. He had to much contact to say that the Giants wanted it more. Eli, he had all day to throw and the Patriots dropped to interceptions on the last drive. Ever dog has its day and you don't have to be the best to win. I'm a Lions fan and we haven't had any thing to cheer about for years. I would never bet on a game and this game proves it is more like wrestling than ever.

Toyota Sienna may be recalled {Autoblog}

Aug 12th 2006 9:55AM What we are seeing now that imports are putting the same amount of cars on the road as domestic car makers is that they have the same amount of problems. It used to be like comparing apples and oranges. Once the imports surpass the domestic automakers we should expect to see more problems with their vehicles. Think about it if I have 10,000,000,000 on the road and they have 10,000,000 who will have more complaints. The truth will come out we americans make better cars that is why the japanese are sending their parts here for us to built now.
