Somalia Radicals Declare Music 'Un-Islamic,' and Radio Goes Tuneless {Politics Daily}
Apr 25th 2010 1:31PM Wake up and do just a little tiny bit of reading on fundamentalist islamic states in the 60's, 70's and 80's before you start flogging the West in an outburst of guilt. You'll see that these very types of aggressively repressive laws were the norm in Saudi Arabia, Iran, parts of Pakistan and so on -- decades before the West had begun to consider prohibiting extremist dress and behavior. This IS extreme fundamentalist Islam, and to imagine we in the West are somehow to blame is the worst form of twisted -- and culturally ignorant -- appeasement.
"Political correctness that makes us tell lies may be political -- but it is not correct, and it is cultural suicide."
Tel Aviv Still Okay to Visit {Gadling}
Aug 11th 2006 4:04PM I'd go in a heartbeat, except just got back a month ago and can't afford to turn around quite so quickly. Best trip of my life, and Tel Aviv is a wonderful, cool city. Definitely returning to Israel within the next year. Yes, there were a couple times I wondered about safety from terrorist attacks, but wondered more about safety on Israel's notoriously crazy roads.
Terrorism -- and other hazards -- can happen anywhere. Israelis teach you that you must not let fear win; you must celebrate life while you have it.
