Apr 18th 2013 10:21AM Pretty cool / scary / rad...
But Extreme ATHLETE? Maybe daredevil.. or thrill seeker... or adrenaline junkie. But athlete? I don't think Wingsuit flying / parachuting makes someone an athlete.
Mar 27th 2013 11:38AM Mr Becker... It actually HASN'T been a bountiful year snow for Mammoth and big storms HAVEN'T continued to drop fresh powder all season long. Where n the heck are you getting your information?
December was a GREAT month for snowfall at Mammoth. But Jan, Feb and March have been down right miserable.
Dec - 147" Avg for last 10 years - 104"
Jan - 26" Avg for last 10 years - 73"
Feb - 10" Avg for last 10 years - 81"
Mar - 27" Avg for last 10 years - 71"
So you can see that this winter has been anything but stellar. Yeah they are going to stay open until at least Memorial day, but the almost always do due to their higher elevation.
Mar 14th 2013 12:09PM Why does every new ACTIVITY (or old ones for that matter) get labeled as an extreme SPORT. That's not a sport. It's just something to do. An activity.
Feb 7th 2013 4:52PM They should have just picked it up and spun it around.
Feb 4th 2013 1:00PM Southwest has only added ONE fee and changed a couple of others. They are still the king of no hassle flying.
Jan 9th 2013 8:19AM So you could hike the trail going to Half Dome but just not get on it.
Subdome? Is that the base or somewhere further out?
Jan 8th 2013 11:36AM At what point on the "trail" is the permit required? At the base of Half-dome or someplace earlier in your trek?
Dec 12th 2012 9:15AM Geez... I hope that is a made up story. Such drivel. Maybe in some women's magazine but on Gadling? Pulleeezzz.
Dec 4th 2012 12:41PM Dude? Gnarly? Totally epic? Enough of the cliches... I think you've watched Fast Times at Ridgemont High one too many times and think everyone talks like Spicoli. I didn't hear Noah say dude or gnarly one time.
Leave out all that stuff and you've got yourself a pretty decent travel article about a really great area. North County.
And to clarify things, La Jolla isn't considered North County. From Del mar on up is considered North County.
Nov 12th 2012 4:34PM So how WAS the surf? Or are you keeping it a secret? ;-)
