Galley Gossip: Flight attendant training - which airline to pick? {Gadling}
Jan 27th 2011 3:42PM I have been employed at AA as a flight attendant for 35 years, so believe me when I tell you - there is NO transfer process from AE to AA. They have to submit an application and interview just as everyone else does. There is no consideration just because they work for AE. And at AA we still have around 1500 flight attendants furloughed and have heard absolutely nothing about hiring.
I have been reading your blog for a very long time and appreciate your point of view and most always are cheering for you....this time, however, your info is a bit off base.
Respectfully,
Sissy
Galley Gossip: Advice for the employees of US Airways {Gadling}
Nov 7th 2009 3:30AM As a long-time commuter, my best advice is...do the best you can....leave all your angst and anxiety at home.....and buy a Kindle. My Kindle is loaded so that I never run out of reading material and have to purchase really expensive airport books and best of all - it only weighs 12 oz. Check out amazon.com - they now have refurbished Kindles and they come with the full factory warranty, sealed in the box for about $149...it keeps me sane. Good luck!
Galley Gossip: A question about why flight attendants are paid twice as much as teachers {Gadling}
Apr 16th 2009 6:14PM As to the f/a's sitting in the back reading, I am a commuter - I live in the D/FW area and am based in Chicago....those flights are always full and I am always on the back jumpseat of the S-80. I'm sure many passengers think I'm lazy but I usually have just arrived from China or India or am on my way to work one of those flights and am using a pass to get where I need to be....next time, try thinking of that......just because we are in uniform does not mean we are part of the working crew and I am not even qualified on the S-80 nor do I work domestic flights. A little kindness and consideration goes a long way in any situation.
