Coming attractions: Iraq {Gadling}

Oct 22nd 2010 9:51AM I was fortunate to travel Iraq during Saddam's era as a solo backpacker ... if you call, arrested as a spy, fortunate.

Anyway, as the "Cradle of Western Civilization" and one of the apexs of Islamic culture - Iraq has tons of amazing places to see: Hatra, Baghdad, Samarra, Ur, Kerbala, Babylon, Nineveh-Nimrod, the Shiite marsh-Arabs, Barsa, etc; I was fortunate to visit these places ... before mass tourism ever started in Iraq.

Life Nomadic: How Much Does it Cost to Be a Nomad? {Gadling}

Mar 20th 2009 10:42PM Hi

I agree - travel simple, live similar to the locals, have few possessions, work along the way ... fun; easy.

I have been totally nomadic - across the planet - around 100 countries, since 1988 ... Am presently in Korea.
