May 14th 2010 12:52PM Ocean beaches are nice if you have fresh water to rinse off the salt when you are done. To avoid that try Presque Isle State Park in Erie, PA. It is a seven mile peninsula into Lake Erie with great swimming and prize winning sunsets. During the summer it is hard to beat. It has a first class free entry amusement park and a campground at its neck in addition to the bike & woodsey trails plus world class salmon and trout fishing. Did I mentiion that entry and the plentiful parking are free.

Mar 13th 2009 2:46PM We would love to take our 5 grandchildren to enjoy the rides. I don't mind paying a reasonable amount for that privilege but I can't afford another $160 for us just to WATCH them ride and keep them out of trouble. If their were no fee or a much lower fee for non-riders maybe we would be able to take them. The huge parks could take a lesson from Waldameer park in Erie, PA. It has a nice selection of first class rides but charges no admission. You pay by the ride or purchase ride-a-rama tickets. It is a great park which installed the best new roller coaster in the country last year bringing enthusiasts from every state.
