Jan 12th 2011 7:17AM I don't know what the school could do about any bullying unless they are standing there when it happens and most kids are too smart for that. something needs to be done for bullying tho. i was the victim of most bullies when i was in school years ago. nobody did anything. i fought back but there were sure more of them than of me. what could the school do? say "naughty naughty" you can't do that?
i understood columbine. chickens do the same thing to something not like them...that shows a sign of weakness..they peck the other one to death. they would have pecked me to death if they could have. i still have to deal with resentment but then again...what could the school have done? short of shooting them, there isn't a thing. if they don't bully at school, they will bully at home or on the way home or on the phone or the internet now. i guess just putting up with it is the only soloution and setting your resolve not to let them destroy you.

May 27th 2010 6:36AM I hate tipping. i wish that owners would just pay their people. it would make it so much nicer for customers as well as servers. some countries don't tip, i guess. we have a large foreign tourist population around here & it seems they don't know to tip. poor servers when they get one of them. i do get tired of the whining tho...if you don't like the job...get a different one. the only sympathy i can offer is to buy a dictionary. i think you know where to find sympathy

May 8th 2010 9:25AM It's back to parents being parents and not asking the govt to be parents for them. there is trash in the library, on tv, on the internet and pretty much anywhere you look. PARENTS it is your responsibilty to teach your kids right from wrong. yes, they are curious and will check things out but telling them, "you know that isn't the way we behave. doing drugs, premarital sex, and all that is not how we believe or choose to live......... " i have my speech rehearsed and my son knows what is going on and that it isn't the right way to live. Parents..be parents!!!! don't ask the govt to be for you.

May 7th 2010 6:45AM to see if it is illegal to see if someone is an illegal should be illegal. i'm with the writer of the article. people from italy, russia, iceland, apply for and wait for citizenship and get a green card in the meantime. who has decided that mexican's can for go the system and just come and go as they please while our government gives them food stamps and medical care that even i, at a low paying job, cannot get. i am 100% in agreement with the law and no, i am not a bigot.

Nov 10th 2009 7:45AM keep having made and buying that wonderful stuff made in china. they'll keep taking our money and still violating their own people's rights. if we, the consumer, don't care...nobody else will. check the products you buy. it is time consuming and difficult but, for me, well worth it!!!
