Mar 2nd 2012 12:24PM I certainly hope that home pries continue to descend. Bozos are still trying to sell $200K homes for $500K or more in California. The other day, I say a home listed for $5M (that's million, not thousand) and it was right next door to a shack, shanty, or hovel (whichever term you wish to use to classify it). Can you imagine having a $23,000 monthly payment and every morning you look out at your neighbor's junkyard shack while eating your breakfast? The $5M home did have a nice fountain and courtyard in front of it though...

Jul 2nd 2011 8:08PM I wouldn't bother, unless you want to fly old planes for fun. Existing technology will make piloting an aircraft as easy as driving a car. What you saw on "the Jetsons" as a kid will soon become reality. Pilot-less commercial aircraft are currently being developed and will be as common as conductor-less trains are at airports today.

May 5th 2011 12:16PM Here is a guy who was an alcoholic and one who smoked cigarettes most of his life. He is 85 years old and still going strong. What does that tell you? People want to be able to say" "If you don't do this, you will live a long life", or "If you do this, you will live a long life". The fact of the matter is, no one really knows how long they will live. Genetics probably has more to do with longevity than anything else. That is a hard pill to swallow, if your parents died of cancer in their late 40's and didn't smoke or drink.

Apr 13th 2011 3:27PM Many people who never smoked get lung cancer and other forms of cancer. Many smokers have lived to be 100 years old or more. A more extreme case is the woman in France who lived to be 130. She smoked for over 100 years and drank olive oil every day. I met a guy at our local historical society who is 104. When people ask him what his secret to a long life is, he points to the pack of cigarettes in his shirt pocket. I don't smoke, but I am sick of the outright hatred that many non-smokers have for smokers. I don't want to smell your perfume or garlic chicken, or your body odor either, but I don't have a fit over it, or lobby for anti-smelly people legislation. Recent studies have proven that there is no impact from so-called second hand smoke, yet people will scream that they are allergic to it and are going to get cancer if they breath it in. Guess what? If you live long enough, you are going to get cancer anyway. If you want to worry about something, worry about all the radiation that Japan dumped into the ocean and air that we breath. Get over yourselves and try to enjoy the remaining years that you have left on earth. Most of the people ages 30-100+ alive today had parents who smoked. The same wackos who are paranoid about second hand smoke are probably burning wood in their fire places, love to sit around the campfire, and like the smell of incense. I've even met nutty people who love to smoke cigars, but condemn people who smoke cigarettes.

Apr 12th 2011 5:24PM Most guys need to face the fact that women don't need sex like men do. Most women need to face the fact that if they withhold sex from their man, he will find it elsewhere. Many women would rather have a steady paycheck and a guy that leaves them alone (maybe even one that is away most of the time on travel). Women need to start realizing that there has to be something in it for the man. It is not merely enough that you gave him kids. Most guys are ill-equipped to deal with babies and toddlers anyway. Guys need sex--pure and simple. Women: If you want a happy husband that will keep those paychecks coming, give him lots of great sex and don't complain about it. Guys see plenty of pictures on the internet of women that look like they are giving their all and really enjoying it (whether that is true or not). Don't withhold sex as a "punishment" for your guy not catering to your every whim. Give your guy more great sex and he will be much happier and much easier to be around. He will show his appreciation in more ways than you can imagine. As for military wives, they know what they are getting into when they marry a guy in the military--thank you both for your service to our country.
