XBL Indie Games Uprising returns this summer, taking submissions {Joystiq}

Jun 16th 2011 1:58PM "Sequence" blew me away! There are some really high quality Indie Games out there, and the value-for-money is extraordinary (10 hours of fun out of a $3 Indie game, when many $60 disc games are barely 15 hours long). So I'm glad there's something like this to promote Indie Games.

Cave Story 3D preview: Pixel goes polygonal {Joystiq}

Jun 15th 2011 5:49PM The original Prince of Persia was ruined by a similar transformation. 2D graphics allow for pixel-accurate gameplay (I could easily align my character 1 pixel from a ledge) that is lost when the graphics turn 3D.

Besides, 2D sprites and levels have practically become an art form! Why *degrade* the artistic and creative value of the original's visuals so that it looks like any old XBLA game?

ESA 2011 'Essential Facts' note rise in women, adult gamers {Joystiq}

Jun 8th 2011 10:52AM These stats include the people playing Farmville, Angry Birds, and Windows Solitaire. Only a minority of people in the 18-49 and 50+ categories are playing "core" games.

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time officially revealed, coming 2012 to PS3 {Joystiq}

Jun 7th 2011 10:43AM Not only the Jak series, Spyro and Crash Bandicoot were also killed by handing them off to less capable developers.

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time officially revealed, coming 2012 to PS3 {Joystiq}

Jun 7th 2011 10:42AM This game needed to come out years ago - when people still cared about the franchise, and to help provide a bridge to bring non-hardcore PS2 owners over to the PS3. But now it's kind of pointless. I'll buy it because I have nostalgia for the franchise, but it won't help the platform the way it would have if it came out in 2008.

Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7 aiming for all consoles this holiday {Joystiq}

May 19th 2011 1:19PM It's not about the gameplay, for Harry Potter fans it's about re-living the moments from the books.

Multiple PlayStation Store updates coming each week until caught up {Joystiq}

May 16th 2011 2:15PM A free month of service and some free content is no compensation for what hackers could do with our personal information and credit cards. When you get down to it, the free identity theft insurance is Sony's real compensation.

Report: Sony plans to restart PSN services 'fully' by May 31 {Joystiq}

May 9th 2011 10:32AM @ilduce620
"Yeah, if it makes it until May 31st, I'm not sure 2 free games and 1 month of PSN+ will satisfy me... "

If my identity was stolen or my credit card defrauded, I know 2 free games and 1 month of PSN+ will not satisfy me.

Rhythm/RPG hybrid Sequence out now on Xbox Live Indie Games {Joystiq}

May 9th 2011 8:55AM It's definitely one of the most polished Indie games.

Canadian firm proposes class action against Sony to the tune of $1B in damages {Joystiq}

May 4th 2011 12:35PM @Integral
Identity theft can destroy a victim's credit rating, empty a victim's bank account, or load a victim's credit card to it's limit with fraudulent charges. The damages could exceed $1B - if the information is used to its full extent.
