Galley Gossip: A letter to the producers of Project Runway regarding flight attendant uniforms {Gadling}
Sep 25th 2011 11:29AM The only chance of this challenge happening would have been in the early seasons when Bravo had the show (they had a post office challenge in the first season). If this challenge was enacted now, most of the outfits would not be practical, and I doubt they would have very constrained budgets. Season 9 has showed me that the show jumped the shark. If only this challenge was pitched to the season two producers.
Galley Gossip: Fly Girls, a flight attendant docu-series airing soon {Gadling}
Sep 25th 2009 7:01PM I liked Flight Attendant School on Travel Channel. I think a fictional comedy about flight attendants in their work would be better than a reality show, although I would love if they just glamorized the profession and made it seem like all FA's did was hand out food and gossip about their male coworkers.
Galley Gossip: A letter from a frequent flyin', two-timin', cheat! {Gadling}
Aug 25th 2009 5:15PM Wait, the Virgin Airlines don't have any MD planes either. It has to be Delta.

Aug 25th 2009 5:09PM Oops. I completely missed the P.S. of your response letter. I originally thought it was JetBlue (becuase we all know how those JetBlue planes just give it all away), but then realized that JetBlue doesn't have any planes that are made by MD.

Aug 25th 2009 9:48AM A couple things:
1. Was that an actual letter that you received, or was this all made up?
2. That photo of the airplane suite makes me green with envy.
3. I think I know which airline this guy is cheating with.
Galley Gossip: A question about packing jewelry {Gadling}
Jun 9th 2009 10:25PM I found out about gemvelopes, which are small envelope/pouches to keep your jewlery organized in. It seems like something that would be very good for a person who needs to travel around with jewelery that they do not wear all the time, or when bringing jewelery on a trip. You can go to gemvelopes.com to see what they're like.
Um... that sounded a little too much like an ad... still, it's worth showing everyone about this handy invention.
10 Passengers we love to, umm....not like as much as the others: Day 4 - The passenger who tries to score a free first class seat {Gadling}
Jun 5th 2009 3:52PM I was upgraded once, when I was pretty young. There was an issue with the booking process of a flight to the Bahamas and my parents and I were assigned new seats. My seat ended up being in first class. I kept it for me and didn't one of my parents sit there. hehe. My parents have enough frequent flier miles (and they're not very frequent fliers) saved to get first class seats, anyways.
It sometimes amazes me that some people have very large senses of entitlement when they're in an airplane.
Galley Gossip: A question about why flight attendants are paid twice as much as teachers {Gadling}
Apr 10th 2009 12:29PM I find it strange how many people talk about how all the flight attendants they have seen are aweful, mean, inattentive people when they are frustrated with some of your comments about being a flight attendant. All the ones I have seen are very nice, even though they may not be in a good mood.
We, the readers, need to acknowledge that education and aviation jobs are very, very different. Education jobs have a set workday, even though teachers do have to do school related things off the clock. Flight attendants have very flexible schedules. Also note that teachers have a two-month vacation and other holidays off.
I'm not saying either one is harder. I'd find it equally hard to calm down either a kindergarten class or grumpy passengers on a plane that has been delayed for hours. At least with teaching you know when you can say goodbye to the students.
Galley Gossip: The passenger didn't ask for much {Gadling}
Apr 9th 2009 10:45AM When I began reading, I was wondering if you were exaggerating, but once I saw some of the demands, I didn't think that anymore. I would find it hard to incorporate potatoes, a mug, and vegetables into an exaggerated tale. Those are too simple!
Also, if she really had a specific special-needs diet, she should have contacted the airline in advance.
Ryanair removes the airport check-in desk {Gadling}
Feb 23rd 2009 7:14PM I personally think that airlines are going to start charging for use of the oxygen masks.
But yes, pay-for bathrooms are seeming more realistic. Maybe airlines will just get rid of flight attendants. That will save them a lot of money! If they do, I hope an emergency doesn't happen during my flight!
