Having visited some of the spots you've mentioned on the Grigory Mikeev back in 2002, one of the highlights was the Verdansky base where we spent New Year's eve drinking vodka with the base crew. The hangover on New Year's day was one I'll never forget. And yes, the one thing no photo of Antarctica can capture is the nostril disinigrating aroma of penguin droppings! I miss it to this day...... Thanks for bringing back memories of the most incredible place on our planet.
