We did get that belated Earth Day present we asked Volvo for yesterday, about the lithium-ion battery packs that LG Chem will deliver to Volvo. A Volvo spokesperson told AutoblogGreen: LG Chem will be the supplier of lithium-ion batteries to our plug-in hybrid, planned to reach the market in 2012. The battery size is 12 kWh and charging via an ordinary wall socket (230V, 10 Amp) will take approx 5 hours. Our CO2 aim for this car is 1.9 litres/100 km, which equals 50 grams CO2/km.
